I have to say a full evening at Lewisville Volkswagen may have been long but we had amazing service and buying a new car was definitely a positive experience! For starters Guillermo Avila was hands down amazing! A month ago we went in and looked at a car, after looking I wasn’t 100% sure that’s what I wanted. While leaving I explained to Guillermo that I didn’t want to be contacted and bothered, when I was ready I’d reach out if they had something. He is the first and ONLY salesman that has ever honored my request and that alone stood for something. That same day we met Chris Eagan and he was very understanding on things and absolutely friendly. Fast forward to July 25, we went back because I wanted to test drive the Atlas and Cross Sport. I have had a Jeep Grand Cherokee for the last 10 years and have loved my car but it was time for something new and VW had better to offer from the vehicles I was comparing. Guillermo had one pulled to the front waiting on me when we arrived. He answered all of my serious and silly questions and more. He got me what I wanted for my used trade in, he helped me get very close to what I wanted on the sale price of a new car and made the buying experience one to remember. Chris came back in the office and spoke to us again and went over some things and even helped us a little more on the price of the car. Chris was very polite, friendly, and respectful. Then John Chapman came in and moved some numbers around and got us a great deal on the Wheels and Tires warranty and explained everything the absolute best so that we understood what was covered. He was super genuine, helpful and respectful! These three men along with the GM were hands down amazing! We didn’t get to meet the GM but I’d say it says something when he didn’t run me off or laugh in my face after my initial offer on the new car, instead he worked some numbers and got closer to the offer than I expected! My 2nd time visiting this location for emergency car repairs. I came in for a new battery and install. **My Frustrating Experience with Lewisville VW Leasing Policy** I’d like to share my troubling experience with the leasing process at Lewisville Volkswagen, specifically regarding a 2023 Taos SE. I wa Policy** I’d like to share my troubling experience with the leasing process at Lewisville Volkswagen, specifically regarding a 2023 Taos SE. I was offered what seemed like a good deal: $467 per month for a 39-month lease, including taxes. Initial Agreement: • The dealership’s catalog clearly listed blind spot monitoring as a feature on the vehicle. • Based on this, I signed the lease contract and agreed to pick up the car the following day. The Unexpected Surprise: • During the handover, I was informed that due to supply chain issues related to the Ukraine-Russia war, the blind spot monitoring feature was missing. • They offered a $450 refund as compensation and assured me that I could easily upgrade to a newer model once available. • At that point, I had little choice but to accept the vehicle. The Real Problem: Later My wife joined as secondary driver, and got to know that blind spot monitoring is essential for her safety on Texas roads which infact is not needed for me. I requested VW to retrofit the feature, but they said it was not possible and that I would need to upgrade to the 2025 Taos. The Shocking Upgrade Costs: To upgrade, I was told I’d need to pay $5,777 extra, which is the difference between: o The residual value of the leased vehicle: $24,777 o The third-party market value: approximately $19,000 • Additionally, I’d need to pay the MSRP of the new vehicle, minus some rebates (~$1,500). Unfair Treatment: (Manager's Scary Behaviour) • I’m being asked to pay for a car that I do not own and that VW is responsible for, as it’s under lease. • To justify this, the sales manager at Lewisville VW used an intimidating tone and tried to convince me that I was the owner of the vehicle—which is simply not true. Market Value Discrepancy: • The 2023 Taos SE’s market value in 2025 is around $19,000, yet VW expects customers to pay $24,777 to own it at lease-end. • This discrepancy is both unfair and misleading. Lessons Learned: 1. Don’t blindly trust sales promises—they may not reflect reality. 2. Read every lease contract term carefully before signing. You will end up paying more than the market value at lease-end. 3. You bear the depreciation risk during the lease. If you want to trade in or buy the vehicle, you have to cover the loss since you signed the contract. 4. You may not be able to trade in the vehicle freely, especially with other manufacturers. • For example, I tried to trade in the vehicle at BMW to take advantage of an offer, but BMW informed me that VW does not pay off their leases to other brands—unlike other manufacturers. If the Lewisville VW sales team had been transparent before I signed the lease, I would have never proceeded. Unfortunately, I was misled and put on the spot. Final Thoughts: This has been a very disappointing and stressful experience. I hope others can learn from it and avoid similar pitfalls More

I've brought my previous Jetta in for service before and was so happy that I told the service manager at the time that when the time comes, I'd be back at Lewisville VW to buy ... and I did.
