We just bought a certified used Lexus from Lexus of Sarasota. If you are buying used, look the car over multiple times and thoroughly. There were many things wrong with the car, ripped leather, scratches on back interior side panels, chip in windshield, no caps on tire valves, seal of sunroof was bad. We were led to believe because it was a certified car, it was in fantastic condition. In my experience, in working with car dealerships professionally and personally, Lexus of Sarasota needs a better internal system "certifying" their used cars before the cars are put on the sales lot. These things were fixed eventually, however, each time we went to the dealership for service, it was a 45-minute wait to get checked in and to pick up the car. The cleanliness of the car was not up to standards either. There was dirt and debris under the seats, and we had to clean it thoroughly after we got it home. The communication between sales and service was nonexistent, as we told the salesperson to tell service that we did not want our car washed because the vehicle had recently been clear coated. This message was not communicated. Both parties, sales and service, blamed each other. Salesperson said he didn't know they washed the cars after service, and the service person said they were not told by the salesperson the customer didn't want it washed. Love the Lexus, the dealership is beautiful, cookies are fantastic, however, the internal systems leave room for improvement. More
