My new 2023 Lexus IS 350 F Sport Design was purchased on 12/22/22 and shipped to my home in Wesley Chapel, FL. After further inspection I realized my car didn’t have any rear seat cup holders. I contacted t 12/22/22 and shipped to my home in Wesley Chapel, FL. After further inspection I realized my car didn’t have any rear seat cup holders. I contacted the sales manager at the dealership and respectfully requested to have the black armrest with cup holders , that comes in other 2023 IS 350 designs , added to my car. I further explained that I have a young son and not having rear seat cup holders in a serious inconvenience. I informed that I was under the impression that a luxury 4 door sedan like the IS 350 came with at least two factory rear seat cup holders since this was a family car. I also reported to the sales manager that two days ago I personally visited the Lexus dealership in Wesley Chapel and confirmed through their parts department personnel that a rear seat black center armrest currently factory installed on other IS 350 models can be installed on my IS 350. He further stated that their dealership is willing to install the armrest part as long as they received it from the Lexus Pembroke Pines dealership. I again contacted the Pembroke Pines manager and provided him with the above-mentioned information received from the Wesley Chapel dealership. I even provided him with the name of the dealership parts employee , Mr. Douglas. The sales manager at Pembroke Pines indicated that the new car that I bought came from factory without rear seat cup holders and they could not alter the vehicle under no circumstances. He also reported that I never ask if the new car had rear seat cup holders before purchasing the vehicle . Was I suppose to ask that ? I don’t know, I’m just a customer who wanted to buy a nice family sedan. He also confirmed that the dealership is not willing to pay for the cost of the armrest part replacement and that I should assume all costs for the replacement part with a dealership discount price. He also advised that I should conduct the part replacement process with the Wesley Chapel Lexus dealership since his dealership doesn’t not approve any vehicle modifications. So now I’m sadly stuck with a 45,000 luxury family sedan without any rear seat cup holders. For the next 5 years I will pay for a car that doesn’t meet my expectations. I provided the sales manager with a doable solution , however the management at Pembroke Pines still refuses to go the extra mile knowing that my request to add the rear console piece to my new car is a fair and reasonable request. If I would have known that this car came without rear cup holders I would have never purchased this car. I guess this is my loss. I learned from this experience that this dealership was very friendly during the car sale process but once I signed the sales contract and requested their assistance I was just a number to them. I love my new car but the above mentioned experience has ruined my appeal for Lexus vehicles. I modified my customer service review so other people can read this and judge by themselves if what I’m asking for is unreasonable or is the dealership of Pembroke Pines not doing enough to meet my request. Needless to say I felt that I got the rough end of the stick in this situation. More
