Unacceptable Customer Service by Finance Director In Feb 2018, I purchased a 2016 Silverado with 3K miles on it. While doing the finance paperwork, Mr Brougher aggressively sold me a 45,000 mile servi In Feb 2018, I purchased a 2016 Silverado with 3K miles on it. While doing the finance paperwork, Mr Brougher aggressively sold me a 45,000 mile service package by showing me the cost savings I would receive at the 45,000 mile service requirements. I typically don't buy into scams, but he acted like I would be foolish to not purchase ahead of time, so I reluctantly did. I recently took an afternoon off work to come in for service, and was told that all costs will now be my responsibility because my service plan has expired. The truck has 40K miles, so I am not over the 45K, and I don't understand how can expire 15 months after purchase if it was advertised as a 36 month plan. At the time, he sold me by saying I would save hundreds of dollars by paying for services ahead of time because of everything that will be required at 45,000 miles. So far, this service plan has covered two oil changes and an air filter (the first 3 oil changes should have been free as promised by my salesman), so I really just started using the plan for my last two scheduled oil changes. The plan was sold to me as 45,000 miles or 36 months. He did not explain that the 36 months started nearly two years before I bought the truck. So in reality, I had less than 15 months to drive 42,000 miles. In my opinion he knew then that it would expire before I could use it, but couldn't pass up the chance at a little more commission. I spoke with Mr Brougher about this on the phone last week, assuming that he would help make it right. Once confronted, he decided to blame me for the expiration, and threatened to hang up on me for saying "that is xxxxxxxx". He has taken no ownership of the wrongdoing, even though your service department has told me that he should have never sold me the package. I expected my phone call to end in him agreeing that this was not right and offering to cover the $45,000 mile services. Instead he chose to pass blame to me as well as GM, and could care less that I will now never spend another dime in your dealership. I just cant believe that your company employs someone who is willing to go to this length for commission on a $300 service plan. I bought a $30,000 truck, and my family has purchased many vehicles from you, and here we are fighting over a couple hundred dollars. What a great business plan. I'm sure GM would be proud! So anyway, I am responding to your question by saying, no it was not "awesome", and you have lost a customer for life. And in return, I will make sure to tell everyone I know about how Lima Auto Mall treats valued customers. I've already been spreading the word, and will be copying this message to social media later today. Such a shame, your salesmen and service department are second to none, but one bad apple can ruin the bunch. I hope Mr Brougher bought something nice with his $30 commission! More
