About 15 minutes from the dealership, he called to say another salesperson had sold the car to someone else, then laughed when we were upset. No apology from him at any point. The GM, Dave Ramy, was more professional — acknowledged the situation, agreed to reimburse our gas, and said he was considering letting the salesperson go — but we’d also flagged a documented ~80-mile odometer discrepancy on our paperwork that morning, which was acknowledged as needing a fix; whether it was ever corrected before the car went to the other buyer, I have no idea. They did offer a genuinely discounted alternative (a higher-trim Outback with double the mileage, priced below our original deal) — a fair offer on its own, just not one we trusted them enough to take at that point. Ended up walking away with nothing after a wasted workday for two people. A confirmed appointment here doesn’t mean much — get everything in writing and don’t count on the car actually being there when you arrive. More
