I was very disappointed with the service I received at Manly Honda to troubleshoot the gas acceleration concern I had with my 2016 Honda Accord. After two days and $240 charge for mechanics to inspect the Manly Honda to troubleshoot the gas acceleration concern I had with my 2016 Honda Accord. After two days and $240 charge for mechanics to inspect the vehicle, plus $35/day charge for the rental car, the quote included installing new spark plugs, new fuel injection and valve system estimated at $3,200. Declining this proposal and taking my car to Village Smith Auto Repair in Healdsburg instead, the owner Ron inspected my car for free and recommended I buy two bottles of Berrymans fuel cleaner and two bottles of Z100 to put in my gas tank to clean out sludge as a first step to remedy the issues which costed me $20. I subsequently took my car for its routinely due oil change, and these two actions completely fixed the delayed acceleration and restored my engine’s functioning to improved performance. What baffles me is how completely unhelpful Manly Honda mechanics and its customer service sales rep were to find the path of common sense and cost reasonable resolution, and instead, pushed the most expensive options to completely overhaul my car’s fuel injection system. For these reasons, I find Manly Honda’s business practice as misleading, usurious, and poor customer service to push its own agendas of maximum financial gain and profit to unsuspecting customers. I wanted to give Manly Honda auto repair a chance. Sadly, the expectations and experience fell far short and I cannot recommend this shop to work in my best interest as a customer who purchased my car here & gave this establishment my business (or any car owner seeking repair at Manly Honda). The service people I delt with directly were fine. However, the diagnostics on my cars issues were completely wrong, and the fix that was recommended was completely unnecessary and would not have solv However, the diagnostics on my cars issues were completely wrong, and the fix that was recommended was completely unnecessary and would not have solved the issue. I had the service person take notes when I dropped it off and asked that they pull the solenoid and check the VVT screens, both upper and lower for crud, which was the issue that was solved at the El Cerrito dealership last year. They did not check the screen and just told me I had a bad connector at the Solinoid. In addition, they attempted to sell me a new wiring harness for $3500 instead of a new $10 VVT solenoid connector, which they said was unavailable except through pick and pull. I googled the connector and they are commonly available at Napa auto parts and I had one the next day and installed it myself in 10 min. I was told if I could find one of those connectors at pick and pull they’d install it for $600 bucks, xxx Manly Honda!?!?!! I doubt I will ever use your dealership again because of my experience. This was a couple weeks ago and I’ve since bought a 2017 Honda ridgeline. I will be taking my Honda elsewhere for service because I can’t trust you guys. More
