The entire team was great as I started this deal via email with one member of the team. Phone call with another. they stayed open late and when I got there the people I worked with were neither the emai email with one member of the team. We were not treated fairly and discriminated against because we were not physically at the deal DO NOT TRY TO BUY A CAR ONLINE WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. We were not treated fairly and discriminated against because we were not physically at the dealership and we were trying to purchase a car that we saw online from another state. We started the buying process Saturday morning September 11 at 8:27 AM Eastern standard time with their sales representative that called us after we submitted an online sales request. We asked if the vehicle was still available and was told yes by the sales representative. We asked why the vehicle had been on the lot for a month and a half and he pulled up the Carfax report and read to us that they had received the vehicle July 28 and did not know why it had not sold previously, but again confirmed that it was still available. We provided copies of our DL’s and submitted the credit application as instructed and was told that the finance manager reviewed the app and that the credit was strong. Then were told we would be emailed a buyer’s worksheet to review rates and payments. We had been in constant communication with the sales rep via text, email and phone calls between 8:27am to 11:30am following his next steps to purchase. Shortly after speaking to the rep ensuring he had everything he needed from us, we received a call from him again (Richard Devereaux) while waiting to receive the financing information, that someone else came into the dealership to buy the jeep and that they take precedence over us because we were in another state and not physically in the store. After pleading our case that we were in first position to purchase and that it was no different than if we were sitting at his desk waiting on the finance manager, he became very defensive and raised his tone of voice while telling us that they would be allowed to buy before us. We immediately left messages for the finance (John Taylor) and sales manager (Hunter May) (with no return calls). We then called and spoke to the sales manager (after 5 hours of waiting to hear back from someone) and was ultimately told the same thing that internet sales are not a priority. Really?? Blake Rundle told us that the people that walk in the dealership on a Saturday - “on their day off” - are considered first, but because I’m in another state, I’m not treated as a real buyer ready to purchase a car. We did everything that was asked of us, allowed them to pull our credit, told the sales rep that we wanted to purchase the car; completed ALL the buying steps prior to anyone else in the dealership. Why have an internet presence and an online sales process when it’s not treated as a priority. Why would we be told to fill out the credit app and wait for the finance manager to send us payments when you had zero intentions to treat us like a buying customer? I have purchased multiple cars in person and online and have never been lied to, dealt with unfairly or discriminated against like I have with this Murray dealership in Starke, FL. Buyer beware!
