Mr. Kinstler, We sincerely apologize for the issues you’ve experienced with your 2014 Jetta and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. When your vehicle was initially brought in, you reported that the key was not being recognized or turning the ignition, along with multiple lighting and horn concerns. Upon diagnosis, we found that the body control module had been exposed to water due to leaking sunroof drain tubes. With your approval, we repaired the leak and replaced the J519 control module. After completing the repairs and conducting road tests, no further electrical issues were detected. After you picked up the vehicle, you informed us that the key recognition warning had reappeared during your commute home. We promptly scheduled a follow-up, diagnosed the issue, and provided a recommended solution. At that time, no concerns regarding a mechanical issue with the sunroof were reported during either visit. We first became aware of a potential mechanical sunroof concern following your after-hours message on March 20th. Arrangements were then made for us to evaluate the issue the following day. Regarding your request for sunroof part numbers, we were unable to identify when or to whom this request was made. Jesse, our Assistant Service Manager who assisted you during your visits, does not recall receiving this request. In a recorded phone call, you mentioned speaking with someone named Sara Lane; however, we do not have an employee by that name at North Penn Volkswagen. It’s possible the request may have been directed elsewhere. For your reference, the sunroof frame part numbers are listed below: (1) 1K9-877-049-A, (1) 8R0-959-591-A, (3) N-908-848-01, (18) N-909-589-02 Please let us know if there is anything further we can do to assist you. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. If Jesse does not recall that I asked to have the sunroof checked, that is not proof that I didn't ask. I asked about the sunroof when I had to bring the car back with non-functioning key recognition and also when I picked it up. I asked for the part numbers through the text number that I had previously used to communicate with Jesse. I can provide a screenshot if you like.
