This was the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership. Do yourself a favor and go to the VW dealership in Queens. They are so much more friendly and knowledgeable about VW vehicles. First, the dealership. Do yourself a favor and go to the VW dealership in Queens. They are so much more friendly and knowledgeable about VW vehicles. First, the sales associate lied to me several times. After agreeing on a price and getting ready to sign paperwork, he started adding hidden fees. I am not talking about taxes, dealership, registration, or any other legitimate fees. I am talking about fees that are only intended to raise the ultimate price of the vehicle in the event that the sales associate feels that he is not making as much on the car as he should. Our entire negotiation on the car price was over about $1,000. We met each other half way and shook on it. But as I sat to sign papers, I saw how he was trying to make up for the deal we just had by slapping on an "admin fee", a fee for a car wash and detail (excuse me? I am buying a new car! it better be clean!), a fee for dealership expenses, a fee for x, y, and z, and he conveniently added up all the hidden fees to the exact same amount he had wanted in the first place before we had agreed on a price. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry because of a new job and needed a car so even though I was close to walking out, I stayed but voiced my displeasure and asked him several times, point blank, what the total cost of the vehicle was going to be, including "Dealership Administrative Fees". He gave me the total amount and then said because of the late hour (it was after closing), he would not be able to bring the car from the dealership's offsite but he assured me it would be ready the next day. I told him I must have the vehicle the next day because of my new job. The next day, he never called me like he promised. I left him messages on his cell phone and he never called me back. I physically went back to the dealership around noon and asked him where was my car. He said he didn't get around to getting it for me. I asked him if he could do so immediately and he said he didn't want to bother because it would take up all of his time and there were other customers he wanted to see. I asked him to please have someone else go pick up my car and he said he would lose his bonus if he did that. I demanded to speak with the dealership manager and the manager told me I shouldn't even be complaining since I was getting a good price on my car! I told them that I was starting a job and because of them, I now will have to rent a car. The manager offered to pay for my rental vehicle because they supposedly did not have any loaner cars available. He assured me that all I had to do was bring in the car rental receipts but that my car would be available the next day. I came in the next day and my car was still not available! Again, they told me to come back the next day! This continued for FIVE DAYS! All the while I had to rent a car. After five days, my car was finally brought to the location but the manager refused to pay for any of my rental costs! He said I was getting a good deal on my car and there was no way they were going to reimburse any of my rental costs even though he had promised to do so! When I went to fill out financing paperwork, I discovered the actual total cost of the car was another $600 more than what the sales associate had written down. This dealership is unprofessional and the staff are not there to help you or assist you. GO ELSEWHERE! After this experience, I went to VW in Queens to compare the service and it was night and day. I came here because my original dealership had closed down a few years ago. I came to get my 2007 Jetta repaired and decided to inquire about a trade in. The service department was very pleasant to work down a few years ago. I came to get my 2007 Jetta repaired and decided to inquire about a trade in. The service department was very pleasant to work with (Oraine Graham) and the sales department was equally as nice. I am one of those customers who will cause a scene if I feel like I'm being treated badly but these folks here were really very nice and professional. Even the ladies at the front desk and who answer the phone are very pleasant people. This is what I have come to expect from VW and this is why I did not think twice about buying another VW. So, I can honestly say that VW Manhattan changes what people think about car dealerships. Their showroom is beautiful and they have a nice area to relax in. I will be back in a few years to buy another car and will be here to write an updated review but judging from my recent experience, it appears that VW knows how to run their shop properly with the customer always being first. It's just like shopping in Macy's. I am happy to see some companies who operate a business in this country are "getting it". Everyone wants to leave a business establishment happy and VW did just that. More

My old car needed a lot of work and after years of never owning or leasing a new car I decided to investigate the options. I started with Dealerships on Eastern Long Island close to home. Having decided on owning or leasing a new car I decided to investigate the options. I started with Dealerships on Eastern Long Island close to home. Having decided on a VW Golf during the next few days I was in Manhattan. I decided to check out what they had available to look at as there were none available to see on the lots on Long Island. The night I went to Open Road I had not much time but during a short hectic visit Val and Eddie told me they could have the two colors and model Golf I wanted to look at in a week. They had them in a few days and I was able to go see them. I went in to see them and had a wonderful experience choosing the car and figuring out the financing. Both Val and Eddie made my first acquisition of a new car an entirely pleasurable experience. More
They are tooooooooooooooo bad, just want to make money from you: the finance manager, the sale guy, they will try to rob your wallet many times. I'm been robbed at the price, the service fee, the bank fee from you: the finance manager, the sale guy, they will try to rob your wallet many times. I'm been robbed at the price, the service fee, the bank fee, the warranty fee, the document fee, all they can do. And, they only give me one key, they promise give me another one shortly, but they never answer my phone any more! If I have a choice, I will not choose this dealer any more. More
PLEASE READ!!! I want to stress to whoever has a VW, please do not bring it to this dealership. I brought my vehicle in for a clicking noise in the front drivers side that another dealer couldn't figure please do not bring it to this dealership. I brought my vehicle in for a clicking noise in the front drivers side that another dealer couldn't figure out. I brought it there thinking it's in the city, they should have high service standards.I was TRULY mistaken. I brought it in and they spend ALL day on my car to tell me it was my rims that were bent that was making the noise. Got charged an hour diagnostic because warranty doesn't cover wheels. I was a auto tech for 2 years and know that they were wrong but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I then did a test and changed the wheels with a new VW and guess what?? The noise was still present. I then had all my wheels fixed because they were bent, also replaced two new tires that were under warranty from where I bought them. My four wheels were new and two front tires were new so I wanted to hear there excuse now. Brought it in for the second time and now my car was fine according to them even though the clicking noise was still there. I went to speak to a tech upstairs where my car was and he told me that my car was sitting there all day and no one worked on it. So my question is how can they say that they couldn't duplicate the concern when no one drove it. Mind you, another service advisor (Oraine-the only good person at this dealership) drove my car while I was speaking to him downstairs and he heard it 15 sec. into driving my car. I then wanted a refund since they mis-diagnosed my car the first time and was told "NO". Why not, I asked the manager? He told me it was a service that they performed and he had to pay his guys. I told him but my car wasn't even looked at because 3 of your techs told me it was sitting there all day, not touched!! He then told me that it was a "normal noise" that our cars make. I didn't know that you sell cars that click in the front end. Also, if it was a normal noise then why did you say " it's your bent wheels making the noise" and then change your story and say "it's a normal noise".It did not make any sense to me I said. The manager says "it makes sense to me" I am the customer/consumer, you need to make me understand so I can have some piece of mind. After me speaking to him, I got so annoyed and said I want to speak to the manager. He replied " I am the boss". I said "NO,I want your boss, the dealership owner Emilio." He stared at me and froze. "How do you know Emilio?" I said I have a case open with VWoA and they gave me all the names and contacts of this dealership. He then totally did a 180 degree change and walked away for 2-3 minutes. After 10 minutes of him telling me he couldn't and wouldnt give me a refund. He came back in and then told me I would get a refund. WOW! Why the sudden change?? Was it because I had a case of with VWoA and that I knew the dealership owners name? Case and point, they didn't look at my car but were just trying to get my money even though this car is under warranty. I would have apperciated them saying" We hear the noise but we dont know what it is" I would have respected them more for that instead of them playing me for a fool. Volkswagen needs to send there techs to training classes on there cars and in detail. The only person there that was great was the service advisor Oraine. He knws these cars in and out since he has had different models of them. If the person reading this to approve needs to speak to me or anyone from Volkswagen please feel free to contact me. I would love to speak to someone. My other VW drivers, please stay away from this dealership. More
I left two voice mail messages with the service department two days in a row. This is the third day and still no returned call. After my first message, I went to the dealership to ask some question department two days in a row. This is the third day and still no returned call. After my first message, I went to the dealership to ask some questions in person. The staff there answered my questions and made a couple of suggestions. The next day, while I was still trying to figure out what to do, I left a message to ask some more follow up questions. No call back. Luckily my neighbor introduced me to a local shop. More
