Thank you for filling out survey and only you can remove post, but like every situation there are 2 sides and you writing it in public will give me a chance again to tell you and whoever reads this our side and why we performed repairs. First we never kept you in the dark OF anything we did, and the fact you stated you don’t know what we did is alarming and misleading. I will start when you scheduled appointment and stated to us that another shop had it and could not fix it. You stated that they replaced ignition switch and also tried a cam sensor. When we received your 2008 xxx for diagnoses there was a code p0018 which is mechanical timing issue. We gave you the TSB for gm that also states that. The front cover was removed and inspected and found driver side cam chain had more movement then the other side. So we gave you an est. to replace chains. Yes I agree after we were done the vehicle was idling rough so we inspected the job we did and other issues it may have. We canned GM to help us understand what we could not see. I was them who stated that sometime when customer use aftermarket oil filters in any part of its history that oil portals can get plugged or restricted. We then inspected the cam actuator to find that it was not working properly and also not getting proper pressure through the cylinder head. They said that we would have to take head apart to unblock and should put an actuator in also. Now this repair takes us further into engine and the timing chains would have to comeback off. We did not charge you anything for this second repair or the time to diag. We only charged you for the original estimate and consumed all other parts and labor to fix your car. This would have been more they what you paid. I did this because we our honest and any other shop would have had you share in the expense. In closing, data and conversations with General motor are saved including the code (that you later after trying to pay even less) said was not even there and that you even denied saying anything about cam sensor that other shop tried. After you stated that we sat in my office and pulled up phone conversation and proved you did state that. I did not lie to you, I stuck to my estimate even though it needed more, and we fixed something for you other could not. You are entitle to your opinion and can call out hurtful names in your post and title… but that does not make it true. I hope you have a good holiday and if you need anything else let me know.
