I took my 21 Explorer on Friday for a leaking shock (not a minor leak, it was leaving puddles in my driveway) and also the system recall. On Monday late afternoon, (when I called), I was then notified that a minor leak, it was leaving puddles in my driveway) and also the system recall. On Monday late afternoon, (when I called), I was then notified that the part was on backorder but could pick my vehicle up the next day. Tuesday afternoon I pick up the vehicle and the recall hadn’t been done either. I feel like my car was up at the dealership 4 days for absolutely nothing. I’m not mad about the part. I realize that can’t be helped by Ford. I am however disappointed that I had to do the leg work to find this information out. This is my 3rd purchase from Planet Ford. My car just now has 20,000miles. At the moment I don’t know if I’ll purchase a Ford again. Mainly due to it already needing a service that requires new parts. I have never owned a new vehicle that needed anything done….especially at 20,000 miles. I also understand the service department being busy, but I have never taken advantage of the first free oil change on any of my past 3 vehicles because it takes so long! I feel like something should change in the department. At least check the vehicles brought in on the first day and notify wether the part is in stock or not. Not everyone has the convenience of getting rides to and from. Like me! More
I purchased an suv from them on 5/26/23 and was told after signing the papers it needed to be detailed and serviced and I could pick it up within the next 2 days. That turns into over a week later and when I go to pick it up they had broken the sunroof and it had to be replaced. They give me a loaner which is actually a vehicle they had for sale. Two more weeks go by and I’m calling for updates getting the runarounds and they finally call back saying the new sunroof is in, they had the last part (the shade) being delivered that day and it would be ready that evening. Another 3 days and I don’t hear back so I finally go to the dealership and request to come out the deal because it’s taking way too long to get my truck. I also asked for service and parts records and found out the dealership never even inspected the vehicle until 6/1/23 almost a week after they had her sign the paperwork and accept the vehicle “as is” because she was told it was in perfect condition Service department broke the sunroof and did not disclose to customer..…They knew it was broke on 6/1/23. Even lied about the last part coming in..…No parts had been ordered period until that day! Jose, one of the used car managers begs me to give him an opportunity to make things right and I do to my regret. After sunroof was finally fixed, they had broken the front windshield, a side panel for one of the drivers side airbags and tried to get to act like they didn’t know and tried to get out of repairing it. And I notice the mileage on the truck is almost 600 miles different than the odometer disclosure. Again I wait for repairs. I downloaded the Ford App and it showed recalls that they knew about but ignored, someone was obviously driving the vehicle when it was supposed to be being..…Why is the mileage steadily changing? Another 2 week wait and this time the radio wouldn’t turn on and airbag panel still hanging off. This time Jose, tells me that they would unwind the deal, cut me a check for my trade or they would swap me out for something else comparable because too much kept going wrong with the truck and they now invested too much money in it. I send him another Explorer at one of their lots and he never responds. They go back on their word, claims the general manager said they have fixed all issues and I need to come get my vehicle or they will report the loaner stolen! Picks up the truck on 7/22/23 almost 2 months after buying it, gets on the freeway for the first time and it’s shaking violently after 62mph..…It’s shaking is so bad that the vehicle thinks the driver is not alert and a displays a warning to get rest now. Sends them a video and takes it back to the dealership and told they will pay for the repairs only to again go back on their word and refuse to fix it. I go to talk to the Jose, the manager who has lied to me all this time and another manager Alejandro Marroquin starts to threaten me for talking too loud and says he’ll come put me out if I don’t get out now! I snapped and went into defense mode, had a complete break and damaged the store, got arrested and now having to fight them in court. I finds out after this ordeal from a reputable tire shop that the tires were just one step from not being able to pass state inspection..…Dangerous safety issue and quote of $1800 for a new set of tires. This is what was causing the vehicle to shake. But they’d rather put your life in danger than making sure their vehicles are up to par before selling them so it can be your headache once you drive off the lot. And this is supposedly a family business..…Get real! More
