My family has been purchasing vehicles through Schaller for decades. I figured since this was a place my family dealt with and from my hometown growing up in. I recently went to Schaller Honda in New Brita for decades. I figured since this was a place my family dealt with and from my hometown growing up in. I recently went to Schaller Honda in New Britain. I found the vehicle I had been looking researching for over two months online. My husband and I went down and met with a friendly salesman named JJ. We were able to test drive the vehicle and decided that we were in interested in buying it outright. The sales manager named Dylan, who barely showed his face did not want to negotiate anything - be it that the car was used! He was adamant about pushing me to finance and trade in my car for barely anything. I explained that I was not interested in financing. Despite, having an uneasy feeling about Dylan, I still went the following Saturday and met with JJ. We came to an agreement. (and of course Dylan barely would work with a price for a used car) However, I agreed on a price and initialed some paperwork and dropped an immediate $500 deposit down. I was promised to be able to pick up the car on Monday afternoon. Mind you I had a conversation with my salesman at 8:45 am on Monday morning then I had arranged to leave work early. While I was literally on the phone with my insurance company to get an insurance card sent, I notice my cell phone ringing. I had answered it, and it was Dylan who informed me that he had "some bad news" Thinking that maybe I had to possibly pay a little extra - which I would have done if the push came to shove! He informs me that the car was already sold, and he realized it was a mistake, which I believe to be a blatant lie. (Which means that Dylan sold the car for more under me while I was promised it and already had a deposit paid on it) He promised to refund my deposit and ended the phone call. I'm sorry but if you had truly made a "mistake" you would have tried to do the ethical thing and offer another vehicle. Especially, in today's day and age of technology, and if it were truly a mistake on his behalf, he would have done something to correct his mistake! I find Dylan to be very shady and he does not hold up to the standard of a reputable salesman. Dylan is a dishonest salesman/ manager, in my opinion. He does not value his customers and treats them like they are nothing. Honestly, Art Schaller should be ashamed to have such an employee working for him. Please don't waste your money or time! A very disappointed customer! More
