I have had bad luck with automobiles most of my adult life and have very little comprehension about how autos operate. I find the whole process of car buying stressful, confusing and not enjoyable. I've labeled my stress associated with it as " My Automobile Anxiety". Thanks to Nick Vullings and Nathan Delmore at Schoepp's Northeast location - this is a thing of the past!!! And Here's Why - - - I have been driving a 1999 Lincoln for the past 4-5 yrs. Great car but many miles which was creating more expenses to keep up with maintenance. Nice not having a car payment but did not feel comfortable taking it very far which in a way left me feeling a little isolated. I knew I did not want to drive it another winter (having had a few close calls on icy roads) and began entertaining the idea to upgrade. Over the past few months I had visited a few other dealerships that advertised helping people rebuild their credit. The idea behind helping rebuild credit would be to present a workable financial for the customer while providing a decent vehicle - but this was not happening. Each time, I left disallusioned, disappointed and completely unimpressed. Discouraged, I decided to just wait it out and keep on driving Abe (my Lincoln) reminding myself the postitives- no car payment, winter is quite a ways off, etc. Two weeks ago, I received a voice mail from Nick Vullings from Schoepp Motors. He introduced himself, the dealership and financial service he worked with and simply asked if I would please return his call to let him know if I was still interested in obtaining a different vehicle, realizing I had the credit issues. The message was polite, professional, friendly and inviting. I'm not sure if I've told Nick - but that message was the reason I contacted him and made the appointment! It won me over and was what I needed to not stay discouraged thinking my situation was a lost cause. I knew after returning his call that there was something about his manner that I could trust him. I met him 2 days later on Saturday 6/21/14. I was impressed as soon as I got out of my car and was pleasantly greeted by the guys outside. Nick walked over to greet me the minute I walked in the front door and this was impressive to me - unlike stereotypical dealerships where you get swooped on the second your feet hit the parking lot's pavement. Shaking hands confirmed my feelings that he was genuine and truly wanted to help me. He and I sat down in his office and after exchanging a few pleasantries began discussing situation in more detail. He explained the actual benefits of a car payment - which would leave me with a nice, reliable vehicle and no more Automobile Anxiety. After calculating how much money I was spending to drive my Lincoln, I was very surprised at the bottom dollar amount. (Shocked is a fitting word). When we were done discussing - he asked if I wanting to proceed with looking. We had the selection down to a Chevy and then he showed me a beautiful Toyota Highlander which I immediately fell in love with but did not think it would be a feasible option for me. The rest of the afternoon was spent by my 2" Auto Angels" Nick and Nathan on working every possible angle to help me obtain a vehicle at the lowest price possible. By Monday - I drove away with ..... THE TOYOTA!! This entire experience left me so happy and grateful to have been treated with respect and kindness. I know that I will be a lifetime customer by a group of professionals who truly care for their customers. If I could - I'd shout it from the rooftops to GO SEE NICK and NATHAN at SCHOEPP MOTORS! I hope that my review relieves anyone who is indecisive on where to go that these two gentlemen will take great care of you! 100 + % Guaranteed and you will be 100 + % Satisfied!! Nick gave me a call and asked me to just look at the website before coming over, so I would have a better idea of what I wanted. Once I showed up, we began looking at cars that might fit what I was looking for. In the process, I found a car that I wasn't even thinking of before. And I really liked it. Lots of creature comforts without being too large of a vehicle. Nick (my salesman) and Jeff (finance), made the deal work relatively easy. The price was a fair asking price. The financing was quick and a very fair rate. The whole process took about 3 hours. Originally, I was VERY much a skeptic! After, I'm happy Nick made the effort. UNBELIEVABLE integrity &assistance w/ an unbeatable price! I came to Schoepp Motors through an advertisement on autotrader.com. I called and spoke with Mike Douglas in regard to the vehicle advertised. He ve I came to Schoepp Motors through an advertisement on autotrader.com. I called and spoke with Mike Douglas in regard to the vehicle advertised. He verified the mileage, price, and other information on the car I was interested in. I was in the Chicago area but I wanted to see the vehicle that night. Mike arranged to have the vehicle ready for me and told me to come on in, even though he knew he would probably have to stay late. I should also add that I had been looking for some time and this 2010 Chrysler Town and Country was the CHEAPEST price in the nation for the mileage it had. On my way up there I decided I wanted to look at another vehicle they had as well. Mike had both vehicles parked in the front row ready for me to inspect when I arrived there. He was very laid back and did not pressure me at all. He was easy to talk to and was knowledgable about both vehicles (minivans). After test driving both vehicles and deciding I wanted to purchase the Chrysler, we went back to his office to negotiate. I was prepared and did not mind paying the asking price since it was so cheap. However, being a typical male I wanted to try and knock it down a little for my ego and masculinity sake. Mike explained to me that they were closing one of their locations, so they had a lot of overflow from that location. This minivan was one of them. Due to this Schoepp's reduced the price $5,000 from what they were initially asking! On top of that they were already taking a loss on the vehicle. Mike must have seen the look of doubt in my eyes because he left for a few minutes and came back with a dealer sheet showing what they paid for all of the vehicles on the lot, and what they were asking for them. I saw that they paid around $17,500 for the minivan and were asking $21,000 for it. The price they had advertised was $16,000! I agreed to purchase the minivan for $16,000 right then. Stupid me, there went all of my leverage. I forgot to mention that I was trading in my piece of crap minivan which had broken down twice in the last two weeks, and the check engine light and ABS brake light both turned on during the drive to their dealership. We hadn't agreed on a price yet for my trade-in. So there I was, with no leverage whatsoever at Mike's mercy. They had agreed to give me $1000 for the minivan, but not a dollar more. That was a fair price as it was an unknown and would be auctioned. I complained that it would be a pain to come back the next day and pick-up the van. Mike said I could leave it there for a week or two until I could come get it. He then pulled out a handful of discount tickets to the Wisconsin Dells and said I should take the family to the Dells and pick-up the van then. I said I didn't want to come back up there. Mike left for a minute and came back saying he could give me $1250 for my trade-in! I was astounded because I had already agreed to, and was going to purchase their minivan. There was no real incentive for them to give me the extra $250 other than to try and keep me happy. That blew me away. Mike and Schoepp Motors earned my respect and repeat business after that class act! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality used car, and I will look forward to doing business with them in the future. Sincerely, Dave Hoover More
