crooked business with black-box operation On the day (07/20/2019) I purchased the used car from SSH, Gerard Regan, the finance manager, concealed from me the information that the dealer is obl On the day (07/20/2019) I purchased the used car from SSH, Gerard Regan, the finance manager, concealed from me the information that the dealer is obliged to provide 60 days or 3000 miles warranty under the state law. Instead, he pushed me to buy a service contract of warranty for 3 years from a third party (AUL). After reading all the dox when I came back home and doing some research online, I realized I was deceived and decided to cancel the service contract. On 07/25, I revisited SSH and requested Gerard to cancel the service contract. He tried almost every excuse to mislead me from canceling the contract. At my insistence, it appeared that he got all required paperwork done and submitted request to AUL electronically. However, on 07/30, I called AUL to confirm the cancellation, but was told that they'd never received cancellation request from SSH. So on 07/31, I called a couple of times to Gerard and later George Papantoniou, their general manager, but got no pickup, neither callback. Then I sent email to George complaining about it. His replying email said the warranty cancellation paperwork has been submitted by Gerard and it takes some time to process. Fine, I decided to give them one more week to process. On 08/08, I called AUL again and was told they’d not received cancellation request from SSH yet. They told me my contract was not even enrolled yet, hence there's nothing they can cancel even if they receive cancellation request from SSH later. Their rep also told me the contract should've been enrolled immediately on the day I purchased it, which should be 7/20! I tried to contact George and Gerald again via email, but got no response. I checked the service contract again. According to the terms in the service contract, in case like this, it's the selling dealer who should refund the entire service contract price. To make sure I didn’t get SSH wrong, I called Keybank, the lienholder who is supposed to get the refund, but was told they didn't get any amount from SSH! On 8/15, just two weeks after George confirmed they'd submitted the cancellation paperwork, Gerard sent me another email requesting copies of my cancellation paperwork. Isn't that ironical? "To hide a lie, a thousand lies are needed." That only makes the liar appear ridiculous. Speak of time of cancellation, SSH claimed that it could take up to 8 weeks for process. However, both AUL and Keybank told me they accept paperwork via fax. It only takes a couple of minutes. "Eight weeks" is absolutely unreasonable and unacceptable. It only reflects their black-box operation. As SSH is obliged to provide me with 60 days warranty under the state law, I figure they just use the service contract to cover their own liability. It's the violation against the law! Also, according to the terms of contract, the full amount will be refunded only if it's canceled within 60 days. After the first 60 days, a $50 fee will be deducted and pro-rata method will be used to calculated refunds. The longer SSH delayed cancellation, the higher amount I pay for the warrant service, and the more SSH gets profit share from AUL. In a word, SSH actually didn't enroll my service contract on day one; they didn't submit my cancellation request to AUL either; and they didn't refund the amount as they should have done. In other words, they charged me more than $3,000 for an inactive service contract and they delayed my cancellation request intentionally so that they can make money . It's fraud and grand larceny!!! I've filed complaint again them with Nassau County DCA as well as office of AG of NY and requested further investigation into this crooked business and penalty on them for their fraudulent black-box operations. Supplementary complaints: 1. It's been more than one month since my purchase of the car, but so far I've not yet received my registration, which should be mailed to me by SSH. I contacted Raffi Ahmed, the sales person, a couple of times to remind him, only got replies saying that they've done their part on their end. I have an account of informed delivery with USPS. From the dashboard, I found the digital image of their letter mailed on 08/02. The Apt# of my address is missing on the envelope and that's why it was undelivered. I told Raffi about this and requested him to fix the problem. So far no response yet! My temp registration will expire on 09/03. I hold SSH responsible for any violation tickets and associated extra costs due to their negligence and omission. 2. The more I dig into SSH's black-box operation, the more tricks I find SSH plays on it's customers. I checked my loan amount with Keybank, the lender, and found out the actual loan amount is $79 less than the amount on retail instalment contract of finance charge provided by SSH. On the contract, $79 is listed as Vendor's Single Interest Insurance Paid to Insurance Company. Keybank told me VSI insurance is neither required by them nor charged by them and advise me to talk to SSH. Obviously it's the hidden fee charged by SSH. I believe they played this trick to rip off almost all their customers. More

I needed to get rid of my old car (sedan) because I care for an older person in my household so I was in need of a higher vehicle. From the start, I felt welcomed into the dealership. Never did I feel pressured by Niki or anyone to buy a car. After test driving an checking out the features of the 2019 Kona, I was sold. The only problem was the current value of my current used car (chevorlet cruze 2016) after being scammed by a previous dealership. I was nervous about the price they would give me but after working some things out I was able to trade in my car for a fair price and lease a new car. I sighed in relief! Niki and Derrick explained everything to me in great detail when it came to the lease, insurance, and more. While waiting for my paperwork to be processed Niki even helped me move my things from my old car into my new Kona. They were so nice and I will be recommending them to all my friends and family looking for a new or used vehicle as someone else recommended this dealership to me.
