Southland Dodge was opened in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. Joe and Dennis were experienced auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff was a college graduate in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. They were also avid drag racers, and they were all under 30 years of age. The first location at 505 Sunset Ave featured a one-car showroom and a 10 car parking lot. Their racing background helped them to sell lots of Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the early years.

Not a good experience at all. They said my truck would be ready to be picked up in the morning. Not. Was told the tire sensors were the problem. Not. I specifically brought my ram for service and check. After i left from the dealership for a fuel filter change, I received a warning for coolant needed. everyone was very nice. need to get more seating bc they are so busy following hurricane ida due to the other facility being closed; a bench outside would even be helpful.
