Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience at Stamford Ford Lincoln. I understand that once you were off our premises you noticed some imperfections and scratches on your new 2015 F150. As per your discussion with your sales professional Richard, you both didn’t notice the damage at time of delivery due to the inclement weather. I would like to apologize to you for any inconvenience that was caused by the delivery of your 2015 F150 with some imperfections. Unfortunately this does occur from time to time. Please be assured that we will always do our best to make it right. I am also very sorry that you feel that the options that we have given you are not satisfactory to you. I just want to make sure that on our part there has been no miscommunication so I have restated the 3 options presented to you below: Option 1. We will repair and paint your current F150 to your full satisfaction. Option 2. We will order you a brand new F150. You can either bring back your current F150 now for FULL value, or be charged a mutually agreeable depreciation for your use for the next 8-10 weeks until your new truck arrives. Option 3. We will attempt to acquire you a new F150 from another dealership that is as close to a perfect match to your current one as possible. Permit me to comment on the options: 1) I don’t know what full satisfaction means as I paid for factory paint and am being asked to accept body shop paint with no offer of any compensation for the difference. And they are different. 2) I need a vehicle now as I traded in a vehicle to purchase the F150. So returning the new truck is not an option. What has not been conveyed to me until now is the notion of keeping the new truck and paying a depreciation fee. I am already paying a monthly lease on top of the $6,500 I rolled over from the trade in. So, why would I be interested in paying more in the form of a depreciation fee to correct a problem not of my creation? 3) No interest. As a car buyer, I have never purchased a car that was close to what I want. I always order exactly what I want and I am willing to both pay and wait to get the options that I am after. I am not about to change now. Look, your team messed up and the options that you are really giving me are to: (i) accept body shop paint in lieu of factory paint for the same price; (ii) go without a vehicle for 8-12 weeks to get what I ordered and paid for; or (iii) pay more (in the form of a depreciation fee) so that I have a vehicle until I get what I ordered and paid for. In none of the scenarios am I getting what I ordered and paid for unless I go without a vehicle for 8-12 weeks or pay more. Or, I simply capitulate and accept body shop paint on two doors, but that is not what I ordered and paid for. So, while I would agree that you are being accommodating, I would not agree that you are being fair. Every option you have put forth has a cost for me in one form or another. As I am blameless in the cause of this problem, I don’t why I am being asked to bear any of the cost.
