In hindsight, I might put this in the "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" category, but learned the hard way that this dealership should not be trusted. Back in August, we were thrilled to work with El Cajon Kia to place a "special order" for our dream family vehicle with babies on the way. We worked directly with the salesperson, Greg, who gladly took our $500 deposit and gave us an ETA of mid-December for the car's arrival. With periodic check-ins to Greg over the following months, all was seemingly on-track. Earlier in December, I called Greg for another check-in to confirm our financing options and some vehicle registration info anticipating the car's arrival soon. Turns out he had left the dealership and thought someone else from Kia El Cajon was calling to touch base. He gave me a number of someone else, Keelan, which I called, but received no response in the next few days. I then called the dealership directly to get a status update. I finally spoke with Desiree who happily confirmed the car's ETA was 12/15 and that I'd be hearing from them soon to arrange appointment to pick up and handle purchase. In the meantime, with assurances from Kia El Cajon that our car that we'd waited 4 months to receive was on track, we sold our car to prepare for our new Kia, leaving our now family of 5 with 1 vehicle. 2 days later, I receive a call in the morning from another sales rep, Carson, who very kindly introduced himself and let me know car was coming in just a couple days and that he'd be helping complete the purchase. Sweet! Then, 30 minutes later, I received another call from Carson who had some "bad news" - our car that we had ordered 4 months earlier had actually already arrived in El Cajon, but was already sold to another customer.... After a little bit of "sorry about that" he proceeded to push other options of cars we could buy instead (none of which were close to what was ordered). Later that afternoon, I got both Carson and manager Blake on the phone, who said there was some sort of glitch in their tracking/ordering system and a salesperson had mistakenly just seen our car and sold it immediately to someone else. Strange, since up until this morning, the tracking seemed to be working just fine from their updates? Unfortunately for us, our only options were to place a new order for the car we wanted and wait 6 months, or buy what they had instead since they couldn't (or wouldn't) find a dealer trade to help correct this issue. I explained that we had just sold our car, now having just 1 available for our family, essentially making it dangerous for me to leave my wife and infant kids at home without transportation in case of an emergency. I asked 2 very simple questions related to them fixing this issue: First, assuming we settled for an alternative option from Kia El Cajon, what could they do in terms of price reduction. Second, hearing that even their alternative and somewhat comparable model was not due to arrive until late Jan. 2021, I asked for a loaner vehicle that our family could use for peace of mind, since we had sold our car thinking we'd have our new on in the driveway. The answer to both was- "oh, that's going to be hard and expensive.... we'll have to speak with our GM." Noted, but Carson and Blake had the next few days off and showed no sense of care or urgency to help, pass this along to someone who'd be available, or escalate appropriately. A day later, I checked in one last time for update, but none was available. I asked for a refund of our deposit, and promptly went to another Kia dealership in Carlsbad that has been now more than helpful, kind, and willing to work with us. Bottom line: Team Kia of El Cajon is not trustworthy and should not be deserving of your hard-earned money. I wish I could say this was an issue with a single salesperson, but clearly the experience for our family has shown that the entire organization is comfortable with misleading customers and not having the decency to own up to their mistake. I'd give 0 stars if that was an option. More

Horrible customer service. Bought a used truck and they let me leave the lot with a busted tail light half tank of gas. Half tank of def. smelled like smoke. Terrible Customer Service all the way around! This was probably the worst experience I have had at a dealership from the dealership Manager all the way to financing. From the time my daughter and I stepped foot on this property, we were extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service. We were very clear that my daughter had a set budget for her car payment, and no matter what, they kept going well above what they were told. Bashar, the finance Director was extremely rude and I am shocked he deals directly with the public. I would never have someone with his demeanor represent my business. Once in finance, we were very clear that this was my daughters car and she would be making the payment. Cody pushed and pushed to have a supplemental insurance that brought her monthly payment up another $100.00. He pushed and pushed and had zero listening skills. Beyond the customer service, we were told the car would be cleaned and detailed. It was not. Not only was it filthy, it had a cracked windshield that was noticed right after she left the dealership. No one took the time to show her the car, how to use it and all of its functions. There was no personal attention, only just pushy typical car dealarship demeanor throughout the entire process. Since receiving the car, it has been a huge pain trying to have my daughter as the primary, not myself. The bills and all communications come in my name and not a single one with hers. I have called the dealership 4 times, left voicemails for Cody as well as messages with the front desk and have had ZERO response from them. I would have walked away from the dealer the moment I met Bashar from his pompous and extremely unprofessional demeanor if my daughter had not been completly set on a specific car they had. I attempted to write a yelp review, however reviews are blocked for Kia of El Cajon right now. I am not surprised, as I am sure I am not the only one dealing with these desperate, extremely unprofessional individuals. More
Shady managers telling customers they are giving a good deal but taking the extra's off the sticker. No follow through either on promises made. I was told that I wouldn't need to pay the turn in fee in our lease if I bought another car. Which I did. They failed to tell me that I needed to either lease or buy through their finance. They of course say they told me that but that was never discussed. From the moment I entered the store I told them I was buying and we only discussed a lease once which I refused. So. They lied and said something that never happened. Also,. If you care about your safety, half the staff wasn't wearing masks and for the five hours I was there, no one was cleaning anything. More
