Put a deposit on a vehicle several weeks ago. Working with Victor. Car came in - I went and drove it, took it to my wife as well, we both liked the car. Was ready to sign, but thought to ask Victor about the tow package the vehicle came with. Victor said - no problem - they could install a hitch and harness right there at the dealership - even quoted a price "range". I had heard these hitches/harness' have been causing Hyundai problems so i asked him to makes sure. He went to the parts department and came back and told me I could definitely get a hitch - but the part was on backorder and it would take a month. Wanted me to buy the car right then. I needed to be sure - so I asked him to call Hyundai first thing in the morning (it was after hours at this point), verify the info he gave me, and I would arrange travel to the dealership to come for the car. Victor told me he would call me at 9am - right after he confirmed with the Hyundai. I rearranged my schedule and my wife's schedule along with funds (i was paying cash) to complete the transaction at 10:30 in the morning. Victor never called. 10:30 rolls around and I reach out to him - "What did you hear from Hyundai?". He responded, "Still on hold". Several hours later - he texted me he found out indeed what I suspected - that a hitch and harness is currently UNAVAILABLE from Hyundai. The dealership literally has a wall mural of the vehicle towing a boat - and the vehicle comes with a "towing package" but you cannot get a factory hitch and harness. When I expressed my disappointment in receiving bad info - and wasting a bunch of time - Victor was a bit dismissive - I still can't believe he couldn't be bothered pick up the phone and discuss this with me - instead relayed it all via text. He told me the manager would definitely be calling the next day (NO CALL). He told me I would get my deposit back in 2 to 3 business days (Its now been a week and still no refunded deposit) Turns out it was just a bunch of "sales guy" bunk......glad I did not purchase that car... (BTW - If I don't get my deposit refunded by tomorrow - I'll just dispute the charge on my CC and let them deal with it) More
