After a very pleasurable 315 plus thousand miles on my 2009 Toyota Prius (now referred to as Prius Sr) it failed to restart on Friday, August 21, 2020. I figured it might be time to seriously consider par 2009 Toyota Prius (now referred to as Prius Sr) it failed to restart on Friday, August 21, 2020. I figured it might be time to seriously consider parting ways 😩😭. So, after drowning my sorrows and getting over my separation anxiety I searched online for what I now call Prius Jr. The body style changed in 2016, so my search was relatively simple, I needed the ugly 2015, true hatchback look and functionality that I fell in love with many years ago. On Saturday, August 22nd there was only one available in the Chicagoland area, which met the criteria that I was looking for. That vehicle was located at Toyota of Naperville. I called and confirmed that the vehicle was still available before visiting and 30 minutes before arriving, but when I got there, I was told that the vehicle was sold. Since it was the year 2020, I figured anything could happen, so I put my mind at ease and was prepared to move forward. My salesperson, Ilene, asked me if there was anything else that she could show me and I quickly informed her that I was not interested in any other vehicle. Right before leaving the parking lot, I received a phone call from the dealership asking if I was still in the area. I was and my sales person came out to my car and explained that there was a mix-up with the number on the vehicle and that my selection was actually available. She was very apologetic, I test drove the vehicle and since it was late, I informed her that I would communicate my decision on Monday morning, since they are closed on Sundays. After securing an approval letter from my bank and saying farewell toPrius, Sr, a friend drove me to purchase the vehicle on Tuesda, August 25th. My salesperson, Ilene had everything ready for the finance guy before I got there. There was a brief delay in the processing, when the finance guy and his boss came out and explained that there was a concern with the approval letter from Bank of America. I assured them that I thoroughly discussed the entire transaction with the Bank of America loan officer. They eventually confirmed that everything was fine. This caused a bit of apprehension on the part of my friend, who drove me there. He decided to stay until the transaction was completed, just in case something else surfaced. With the exception of those two concerns, my experience was pretty good at Toyota of Naperville. More
