Hello Michel, I am sorry if there was any confusion about the warranty package on your vehicle. When we write a customer's vehicle we have no way of knowing what might be the root cause of the issue. We also do not know whether that root cause would be covered by the warranty package you purchased. That is why we ask for approval of a diagnostic charge. Obviously, if the issue is covered by the warranty package there would be no diagnostic charge whatsoever. However, if it is not a covered item, we still have time and equipment involved in the diagnostic which is when that charge would come into play. We do not ask for a deposit or anything like that at all. Just a verbal agreement that in the event something is not covered that you will be responsible for any charges incurred. Hello Ellen, I do firmly believe and try to impress upon my staff the fact that no customer comes in just because they want to see us. Everyone that comes here to Tucson Subaru has an issue with their vehicle. Rattles are the absolute worst to diagnose and it is not that we are dismissing the fact that you have a rattle, sometimes we just cannot duplicate it. Without being able to duplicate it, we cannot diagnose it. We spend hours sometimes on test drives just trying to replicate a noise, sometimes to no avail. Ultimately driving with the customer is usually best because they know exactly how to duplicate it and can point out exactly what they are hearing. We also spent quite a bit of time on your other concern, had the shop foreman and myself involved to verify if there was a fault and none was found. We do take every customer's concerns very seriously and do try our very best to diagnose and repair any issues. I want each and every customer to have an extraordinary service experience.
