We visited Valley Honda last Friday so we could test drive a Honda Pilot. We bought our Honda Odyssey at Valley in 2010 and have had it serviced there since. I am not sure what has happened in the sa drive a Honda Pilot. We bought our Honda Odyssey at Valley in 2010 and have had it serviced there since. I am not sure what has happened in the sales area but we had a very frustrating experience. First, there was absolutely no record of us in the system because they did a CRM upgrade. After ten years, multiple visits, and thousands of dollars spent at Valley Honda I am a complete stranger to them. (They should question the value of the CRM upgrade if they lost all their customer information.) The rest of our visit did not go much better. No one was rude but there is a point where listening to the customer is required. We told him at the start we were at the beginning of our buying processes and we had never driven a Pilot but since we owned an Odyssey we were very interested in the Pilot. We also said we were not ready to buy anything so we could manage expectations. This is where the listening stopped. We finished our drive and were ready to go. Only to have to wait for 20 minutes while the salesperson chatted at the desk waiting to get his manager so we could play the pressure sale game. At that point, there was no way we were doing a deal, even if we liked the car. To add insult to injury, I received a follow up call on Monday about looking at another car. The only problem was that the car referenced was a CRV, not a Pilot. This confirmed my thoughts from my visit on Friday. We were very disappointed in the way things were handled at Valley. I guess in some ways as the incumbent we had higher expectations of them. We were always very impressed by their sales and service in the past. The sad part is they spent the majority of ten years impressing me and they pretty much blew it in one visit by having no clue who we were. Lesson learned. Whatever it was, we have decided we will not be going back. We are providing this as feedback for Valley to use and improve. I am intentionally not providing any names. More
