I bought during quarantine so I understood the delays and waiting. But after my sale the mistakes were unacceptable. I bought during a special promotion which allowed for 0% financing, no down payment and no waiting. But after my sale the mistakes were unacceptable. After many phone calls They admitted their mistake and agreed to fix. I arrived for my appointment to sign paperwork and waited over an hour at which time I was told I would have to wait I definitley. I expressed my frustration and was assured a call. No call, no fix. Hard to tell if it is disorganization or lack of care. Either way I was not provided what was promised. You have many options to buy a VW in chicago. Don’t chose this one. More

We test drove it and immediately heard a noise coming from the front end, which not being mechanically inclined, I figured it was probably wheel bearings. I also noticed that the drivers window wouldn’t was not working properly. This all happened even though they told us that the car had a thorough safety inspection. They had the car put up on the rack and checked by their mechanics. We were told it was a drivers side wheel bearing and the window motor. So the deal we worked out was they would give us $1,000 off the price and we can take it to my mechanic who could probably fix it for less. We were assured by the manager and mechanics that nothing else was wrong. We took the deal and took it to my mechanic who is also a friend and when they put it up on the rack he said it was obvious that the not only was the drivers side wheel bearing was bad but the passenger side was just as bad which cost me an additional $400. When I brought it to the managers attention he said myself and my mechanic were lying. The manager had told us how they stand by the cars they sell and happily fix things even though a car has no warranty. They are a bunch of liars. More

Overall I’d rate my experience as good. Incredible Service We had an engine light come on. I called the service department. The next morning my car was picked up. They communicated in a timely manner. When the problem wasn't fixed in the time they thought, they called immediately and were accommodating in providing a loaner vehicle. One of the days, the gentleman I was working with was off, but they didn't skip a beat. They had someone on his cases and communicating with me. Justin, who picked up and dropped my car was fantastic as well. This is the second time I have been to this dealer and plan on buying my next car here. They are amazing! More

We purchased the car, drove it 120 miles home, parked it in the driveway and it leaked oil. We had our local VW dealer in Madison, Zimbrick, checking out the car and we had repairs of more than $1,500. Wh in the driveway and it leaked oil. When we contacted VW of Downtown Chicago, they were not interested to help out in any way. I would never put a step over their threshold. Even after I contacted upper management, I did not receive a call back. This is the worst dealer I ever encountered. They claimed they checked the car before they sold it. There are only two options: 1. They have a terrible service department that is incompetent 2. or they are not saying the truth. I cannot believe that VW has dealers like VW of Downtown Chicago. More
