If there was negative Zero’s I would rate the service department with 3 negative zeroes’ After I bought my car took it over to Honda, they discovered a filthy air filter, (shame on me for not checking it department with 3 negative zeroes’ After I bought my car took it over to Honda, they discovered a filthy air filter, (shame on me for not checking it), then the battery was low, needed a new battery. Added more Feron to my coolant system, even though my sales rep told me they charged it before I bought it. Had to buy new hup caps, because apparently the mechanics didn’t put it on right. Very poor service. I purchased a extended warranty, but very hesitate and apprehension in taking my vehicle in for repairs. I do not trust this service More
I bought a used BMW X3 from Volkswagen of Salem. I was told it as inspected and in good working order. The same company owns the BMW dealership next door. I also negotiated a second key because the I was told it as inspected and in good working order. The same company owns the BMW dealership next door. I also negotiated a second key because the car only had 1 key. On my drive home, the check engine light comes on. I called them and they said I could drop back by with a couple hours notice and they'd take a look. I called the next week to have that done and I was told I needed an appointment and couldn't drop by. The person I talked to when I called back said that he'd check to see if I could get in that day and he'd call me back, but I never got a call. I took the car to my mechanic, 3 codes. 3 error codes on my drive home. $1,500 in repairs. About 10 days after I bought the car I called and asked to talk to a manager. I talked to Perry, one of the sales managers. He said this is really common, and blamed the car for just sitting. I was unhappy about the flippant rationalization of why this happened. When I told him I didn't feel like they were being honest about the car he said, "are you expecting us to pay for the repairs" and got a little assertive. Ok, that's fine. But I let him know I was just unhappy with the situation and that things like this probably didn't happen all the time. He offered me $200 in free oil changes. I also asked him about my key, apparently they never ordered it and it would have not happened if I hadn't asked. The follow through here was also disappointing. My thoughts on this are as follows, I don't believe it's common for 3 error codes to happen when I drive the car home form the lot. I don't appreciate being ignored by the staff. And I really didn't appreciate the $200 in oil changes offer that I'm sure would have cost them $40 in parts and materials. I've had the car for 4 weeks now. I just got another warning that the coolant was low so I filled it up the next day (2 days ago). The very next day I got the same error message, and the coolant was almost gone again. So now it's back at the shop for the second time in 4 weeks after buying it. It was a disappointing experience and I would not go back. I could not in good conscience ever recommend this place to anyone else. Update: water pump has to be replaced and transmission fluid is bad and needs to be flushed. Another $2,500 down the drain in under a month. Also it's nice that they leave an automated update that they want to make it right, but no actual person wrote that reply to this and I really don't believe they care at all. Update 2: talked with Skip, he said he'd call me back the next day. Didn't call for 2 weeks. I finally called him. He directed someone else to call me. They didn't for another couple of days. Finally they reached out and told me there was nothing they were going to do. They said that "in Oregon this is a contract sale and we have no obligation to do anything at this point". I bought the car from a guy named Azael Cardoza. He goes by AZ. I would avoid him. I forget the other sales manager who for all intents and purposes told me to xxxx off. And Skip. Skip was nice, but unhelpful. At this point I feel they materially misrepresented the state of the vehicle. They seem just like what we've all come to expect from car salesmen, sleezy and dishonest. I cannot recommend avoiding them entirely enough. You have been warned. More
I had a great experience with all aspects of this dealership. Very respectful and patient. I saw the car online and knew what I wanted. I ended up buying the car that day. No pressure, very relaxed e dealership. Very respectful and patient. I saw the car online and knew what I wanted. I ended up buying the car that day. VW of Salem service center has been servicing my 2017 Beetle since 2018 with great professional care. I have always been satisfied with their usual customer care. Beetle since 2018 with great professional care. I have always been satisfied with their usual customer care. More
I never felt pressured. Jose was very helpful and able to answer all my questions without the hardcore 'car salesman' approach which I really appreciate. Jose was very helpful and able to answer all my questions without the hardcore 'car salesman' approach which I really appreciate. More
