Good Morning Jeanne, I apologize if you feel your most recent visit was dishonest. Taking a look at the repair order for the day you came in we performed a full synthetic oil change, topped off all fluids, replaced your front wiper blades and took a look at your concern regarding a “muffler/exhaust” noise. The tech began his diagnosis and found that the right rear wheel bearing had failed producing what he believed to be the source of your noise complaint. As with any vehicle we bring into our shop, we performed a multi-point inspection over the car as well. Upon doing so, we noticed the rear springs of the vehicle were heavily rusted at the base of the plate where the springs sit. On your copy of the invoice, it does indeed state that they were not broken yet, and that the right rear spring was far more rusted than the left side. During that time, we spoke upon your extended warranty. When I called in they informed me that based on the terms and conditions of your contract, the third party warranty did not cover corrosion, therefore, the rear springs were unable to be covered. The right rear wheel bearing was in fact covered. You had stated multiple times during your visit about the $2,800 you spent for this contract and at that time I had mentioned that from what I have seen in the past four years both working in sales and service, it seemed bit high in price to not only not have full coverage of components but as well as having a $300 deductible. The $1,200 total included your $300 deductible for the wheel bearing (only the right rear), the recommendation of rear springs (which are recommended to replace in pairs to prevent ride height difference) priced at $865 and the oil and filter change you initially came in for. Typically, with any customer concern that is out of the base warranty there is a $155 diagnosis fee, that of which you were not charged for. The $100 you stated was spent to diagnose was in fact the oil/filter change we performed. We’ve been in business for 35+ years and have built a strong customer base due to our efficiency, honesty, and quality of repairs. If we drop the ball, we right our wrongs immediately and resolve any issues brought to our attention. It seems that your review is unwarranted in terms of what actually took place during your visit. I would consider it unfair to claim we attempted to “scam” you. Our only goal is to help our valued customers and create an experience that is above-average.
