Sullivan couldn't get the new 2025 Tundra Platinum that I - MoJet777
Sullivan couldn't get the new 2025 Tundra Platinum that I wanted, so I had to buy elsewhere, but I decided to try their service department for the 5000 mile service. I traded in a Mercedes SUV. The MB dealer has the same drive-in reception, except here, they just kind of left me standing in the bay. Finally told me to go inside. The service adviser seemed honest and helpful. Suggested I didn't need the 5000 mi oil change that a lot of Tundra owners have had, to check for metal shavings, due to a recent, severe engine problem. I knew the problem had reportedly been resolved before I purchased but still wanted to be safe, yet with today's long-wearing oil. I agreed about waiting until 10K to change and appreciate that advice. He estimated about an hour for the check up and, as I was going with a friend to do an errand, he promised to text when done. Two hours later, no text, so I went back, he wasn't there, truck was waiting, another adviser answered a couple of questions, took payment (apparently some new Toyotas come with 2 years free service -- but not all), and I left. Having paid as much for the truck as for a new MB SUV, I miss the little details like MB's complimentary car wash, and I feel like no one was really in charge, but since Sullivan is much closer to home, I guess I'll give them another try. Actually, years ago, after Sullivan's sales reps first ignored me then, on my 2nd visit, wanted $200 to find a car the color I wanted, I left, ended up at helpful MB dealership, switched from being a loyal Toyota customer to Mercedes and stayed for 20 years. But I needed a truck (and soon, another car), so I'm back, hoping for better. Sullivan does have a nice facility, and I appreciate the honesty.
