My car was brought in November when my oil pump decided to eviscerate my engine. I just got the car back in January. That was all under warranty and was handled well. So when my car broke down an hour away from home in March, I was fairly certain it was the engine again. When I called Ford they said to use their service and have it towed to Enfield. This required me to pay $650 upfront for the tow. When I arrived I explained what had happened and asked if I was going to be given a loaner. I'm a student and need a way to get to and from class. I was told I had to wait for them to run diagnostics because it might not be the engine. I pressed that I had just gotten the car back in January, what else could it be? My partner, who is a mechanic, even for a cursory look over the car, and determined it was something with the engine. Still no rental. Diagnostics took roughly a week or more. They thought it was the fuel injectors. Put those in and they didn't work. Through engineering they determined it was the turbo, which is when a majority of this went downhill. We went from not just dealing with Family Ford to dealing with corporate Ford while we tried to get some sort of deal on this turbo, because it's like $5000 and it could have been one of the parts that was effected when the oil pump broke. Corporate Ford was a nightmare.
