What you’re saying is also not the whole truth. I had gotten a notice of the recall probably a year ago and each time I came in for an oil change or whatever service, this would show up as a notice on the appointment scheduler. This service was never able to be selected and always had a note that there was no fix yet available. Until this particular appointment, I was able to add it to the service and assumed Gord had the fix then. When I arrived for the appointment, Alizabeth went through what I was there for, including checking the backup camera. When it was completed, Alizabeth said the camera test passed with no issues. This really didn’t surprise me because I never had any issues with it. That same night, when putting my car in reverse, the backup camera didn’t work properly, just a black screen and then a message to contact Ford It continued the next day and so I returned and said whatever they did to test the camera, broke it. I showed Alizabeth a video of what it was doing. Jesse and a technical both looked at the video and said it was very strange because it was working perfectly the day before. I was told to bring the car back the next morning and it would be taken care of. When I returned, Alizabeth checked me in ans I waited in the lounge. Less than 15 minutes later, she came to get me and told me that there was a mistake. That because Ford had no fix, that the camera was never looked at, never even touched. Obviously this made absolutely no logical sense, the camera was fine before this and now it wasn’t. The paperwork I have clearly states that the camera was checked and tested. So either the technician lied on my paperwork, or Alizabeth lied about it not being looked at. Either way, Jesse, the service manager, confirmed BOTH. If Ford didn’t have a fix, I should have been told that when I dropped it off and that would have been the end of it, until a fix is available. But instead, it was confirmed it would be checked, it was confirmed it passed, it was confirmed again the next day that it had passed and then all of a sudden, it was never checked. It was never touched.
