Unfortunately, my experience with the service department was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I brought my 2023 Tahoe in for a transmission issue when I was only about 500 miles outside of my pow was extremely frustrating and disappointing. During the initial phone call, I was told the repair would cost nearly $4,000 between parts and labor. At no point did the service department mention that, given how close I was to the warranty cutoff, requesting goodwill coverage from GM might be an option. Instead, while worrying about an unexpected repair bill of almost $4,000 on a relatively new vehicle, I did my own research and learned about GM goodwill assistance myself. I then had to bring that possibility to the dealership and ask that they pursue it on my behalf. I appreciate that they ultimately did submit the request to GM, but I am extremely disappointed that this was not presented to me as an option from the beginning. From there, the communication continued to be frustrating. On the Friday before a holiday weekend, I was told the repair would be covered. The following Tuesday, I was then told I would be responsible for 5% of the repair cost. After additional back and forth, I still did not have a clear answer as the end of the business day approached. I ultimately had to call the dealership myself 20 minutes before closing, and again 10 minutes before closing, just to find out what was happening with my vehicle. Only then did I learn that GM would, in fact, cover the full cost and that the repair would be completed the following day. The repair was completed as promised, which I appreciate. However, I was still charged for something at pickup despite being told the repair was covered, and I have yet to investigate what that charge was actually for. The most disappointing part of this experience was how much effort was required on my end to advocate for myself, research my own options, and repeatedly chase down basic updates and answers. Had I not researched goodwill coverage myself, I am left wondering whether I would have simply paid the nearly $4,000 I was initially quoted. This is also the fourth vehicle we have purchased from Hilltop Chevy, which makes the experience even more disappointing. I expected much better communication, transparency, and customer service from a dealership we have continued to give our business to over the years. I appreciate that the repair was ultimately completed, but the overall experience left me with very little confidence in returning to this service department in the future. More

I was initially very impressed the team here stayed hours later than their closing time while I searched for an insurance rate I was happy with.
