Great Car Buying Experience - Long Distance Purchase I am proud to be submitting this review as a customer all the way from Huntsville AL. We recently purchased a Certified Pre-owned 2015 Honda CR-V Tou I am proud to be submitting this review as a customer all the way from Huntsville AL. We recently purchased a Certified Pre-owned 2015 Honda CR-V Touring AWD from Don Ayres Honda in Fort Wayne Indiana. After playing hardball and getting nowhere with an overly cocky dealership in our area over an almost identical car, we decided to expand our search to a wider area and take our business somewhere else. Shortly thereafter we came across the CR-V at Don Ayres. When my fiancée called about the car she was treated with courtesy and respect – Exactly The Way A Potential Customer Should Be. Chad Oberlin, the Sales Consultant who assisted us, answered all of our questions about the car in a straight forward and timely manner. Even though we were hundreds of miles away, he still gave us the same level of attention and provided us with the same degree of outstanding service as someone who walked into the dealership in person. He was knowledgeable about the features and condition of the car and provided us with all the additional pictures and video we requested to feel comfortable about a long distance purchase. When the time came to discuss the price of the car, there was very little hardball played. Chad never attempted to provide us with misleading information or blow us smoke to justify an unfair price. When we finally reached a deal, Chad Oberlin and the Sales Manager Carlo Borg handled all the details of the purchase transparently and in a way that allowed us to feel comfortable even though we were buying a car from so far away. At the end the day we purchased the car at a Competitive Price and had a FAR better dealership experience than anywhere else we looked. A few weeks have now passed I can still honestly say we are Satisfied with the price we paid for the CR-V and we are Extremely Happy with our purchase. Thank you Chad Oberlin and Carlo Borg for a Positive car buying experience! I will happily recommend Don Ayres to anyone from my area looking for a new car. There are several others like us who would rather travel a few hours to get a fair deal on a great car rather than accept getting ripped off by the dealership down the street. Rough start with purchased vehicle but "Happy Ending"!!! I test drove a 2013 Equinox late January and I noticed the TPMS light was on. During the purchasing process of the vehicle the salesman and his manage I test drove a 2013 Equinox late January and I noticed the TPMS light was on. During the purchasing process of the vehicle the salesman and his manager (Jesse Kindig was my salesman, Bill Hullwick was the manager) assured me that they would have the issue resolved by delivery (the next day). I was so excited that I took a half day off work to get the financing done and take delivery. When I arrived at Don Ayres my new Equinox was looking good!!! Jesse mentioned that the service dept recalibrated the TPMS sensor and the issue was resolved. I shook Jesse's hand and I was on my way. I was thrilled, until I was about 10 miles from home, the TPMS light came back on! I pulled over and called Jesse and he said that the service dept could work on it on Monday. I took the vehicle to them on Monday to be fixed. I was able to pick the vehicle up on Wednesday understanding that the issue was resolved, after they had to take it to a Cheverlet dealer to fix it, I was about 12 miles away from the dealership and again, the light came on!!! I called again and was told that the following Monday they could get it in. So again, I drove the vehicle to Don Ayres to be fixed and they once again took it to the local Chevrolet dealer to be worked on. I picked it up again on Wednesday after a BCM (body control module) was replaced. When I arrived to pick up the Equinox before I left the property I noticed the light was on. I discussed with Jesse and the manager that was there (Carlo) and even discussed the possibility of returning the vehicle in trade for another vehicle on the lot, I was very frustrated!! I said I would like to take some time to think about my options, I took the Equinox home and thought about all of the reasons why I liked the vehicle in the first place... I contacted Jesse and said I would like for them to try once more to fix the problem... I took it back to them on Monday, now the middle of February... They had taken the vehicle back to the Chevrolet dealer and they had it until Wednesday and had replaced a receiver that seemed to have done the trick! I have had the Equinox fixed now for almost 2 weeks and I am so very happy that I have had no further issues with the TPMS sensors or system. I am very thankful for Jesse, Bill and Carlo for making the very stressful situation easier to deal with and for making my many many many trips back to the dealership a little easier. I would definately return in the future to purchase a vehicle from Jesse, he did a great job and made life a bit easier for the long long month it took to get the issue resolved. More

I have owned two vehicles from this dealer and brought them business for my third. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this how this dealership is run now. Both of the cars I was interested in were listed online before they had been serviced and detailed and were in Don Ayers own "sell-able condition." I expressed strong interest in one car, and Darrin Bickel, a very nice and understanding experienced salesman, was going to call me when it was ready to test drive. Darrin is the only salesman from this dealership that I have dealt with that has called me back when he said he would and genuinely tried to help me get what I wanted so this review in no way represents his service to me. This review is for his superiors and all of the other salesman I had the displeasure of attempting to work with. I do not remember who all they were which is why I selected all of them and only gave a recommendation to Darrin. Darrin called me and told me another salesman sold the car I was interested in shortly after my visit to the dealership. This means that the car was sold while on the lift in the service department and being worked on. The car was not able to be ran or driven in the condition that this dealership allowed it to be sold in. That being said, if you are willing to pay the high prices they list outright without hearing the car run or driving it then go here. If you want to get taken advantage of then go here. I myself will never do business with them again nor will my family. More
