I recently brought my 2024 Sportage in for my final complimentary service appointment with no existing issues. During the service, I was informed that a nail had been found in my rear driver-side tire complimentary service appointment with no existing issues. During the service, I was informed that a nail had been found in my rear driver-side tire and that it would need to be replaced. I declined the replacement and, upon retrieving my vehicle, discovered that the nail appeared to be brand new. I then took my car to a tire shop for a second opinion, where I was told that the nail was so small and fresh that it had not even punctured the tire. While I understand that accidents can happen, it seems unfair to attempt to charge for a new tire when the nail likely originated from the service department itself. Furthermore, suggesting that I was already aware of the issue before the appointment was both inaccurate and concerning. More
