I walked into the dealership just after 9 AM on Saturday morning. John Studt was the sales person who greeted me at the door. I was looking for my first personal truck, decided on the F150, and now wanted to make the purchase. I had narrowed my decision down to a black Supercrew short box with either the 3.5 V-6 or the V-8. I was open to new or used with low miles. The prior day, I had found a used Platinum in Illinois that seemed like it fit my needs, had a clean Carfax report, and I told John. We went for a ride in the one that I found on the website. Since I don’t live very far away, we went to pick up my wife and son so they could experience it. My wife also drove it. All along, John was answering all of our questions. A long time F150 owner himself, he was very helpful! During our ride, he explained the potential problems with buying the vehicle in Illinois that “seemed too good to be true”, and offered to pull the Oasis report for me on the vehicle. I’m glad he did, because I would’ve purchased a lemon if I had gone with that vehicle. After about 1/2 hour, we went back to the dealership to make a deal. After short and fair negotiations with John and Dan Baumann, sales manager, I purchased the truck. On Sunday morning, I was going through the options on the vehicle, and noticed that it did not have the electronic rear differential lock or the tailgate step. These are two features that I really needed. It wasn’t John’s fault that these were overlooked. I assumed that the trim level that I was looking at had all of the same features of the trucks that I had seen at other dealerships. I found two vehicles on the website that would have fit my needs perfectly as alternatives, and left voicemails for both John, and Dan Garcia in Finance. On Monday morning, they called me back and said it would be absolutely no problem to change the purchase, since I hadn’t taken possession of the vehicle, and it hadn’t been officially titled. So I purchased the second F150 in two days :-). I recommend this dealership to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable, and accommodating staff for their purchase experience.
