I have never felt more fairly treated in a car negotiation then I did in my recent purchase of a 2015 XC60 AWD T6 from Craig Melquist. The only sad point was I had to trade in my 98 X70, that I also bought from Craig 16 years ago. Along the way I bought a 2005 XC70 off a lease from Chris Henriksen, which I still have. The sales experience was unique in that at this dealership all the sales staff support each other. We went back several times as we decided between the S60, S80 and XC60 AWD T-6 and the XC60 E drive. Each and every time anyone there was willing and happy to help us, never begrudging their time on someone else's sale. Even after the sale was made, Tom Rzasa spent 90 minutes with us fully familiarizing us with the features, on a busy Saturday. The Flanagans, who apparently have full or partial ownership of the dealership are on site working along side the staff actively involved in the operation. And that was just sales. Wait until you deal with the best service advisers and mechanics in the business. Each and every repair or service I had done at Smythe was done the first time, on the day promised, and never had to go back. They listen to you. That is too rare. Here are two great examples of how much I trust the service department. in 2010, I asked Tom Coward to evaluate the 98 X70 and tell me, if you were evaluating this car to purchase would you buy it. He said he would, so I kept it. And even more telling, recently when Nick Pavano told me it was time to trade in the old car, there was no question in my mind that this was the right move. When I needed a new AC compressor for my 2000 V70, my service advisor Doug MacAdam checked to see if they had the part in stock (computer said no), so then he thought to physically check inventory anyway, just in case ( very impressive extra initiative Doug, much appreciated). Their actions reveal they value your time. He ordered the part on an expedited basis (no extra charge) and had it shipped over the weekend. Today (Monday) on check-in I shared I had an important client meeting I hoped not to miss. This late curve ball by me was no problem, as Doug located a loaner for me and I was able to avoid having to reschedule my important meeting. They emailed me when it was done (on time!). I just picked up my car and Brian (master mechanic/tech extraordinaire/uber brainiac) went above and beyond by addressing an awful door hinge squeak that has been driving us crazy. I'm pulling hair out over it, and I can't afford to do that.... I appreciate the high level of service given by Doug, and my wonderful Tech Brian. Good people. Honest, hardworking, attentive, proactive, purposeful - they add value to my life and I appreciate that. No aftermarket cheap nonsense parts here obviously, the real deal OEM is what I want on the car - parts that were designed to give the most benefit, longevity, and reliability. I've never had a car breakdown and I intend to keep it that way. I value my wife & I value having a reliably maintained vehicle. The AC is ice cold, just in time for summer. Doug MacAdam made a house call to check things out for me. I ended up getting battery checked by the place I purchased it, and they charged it and said it was fine. Doug was dubious and requested that I bring car in so he could check the battery. It flunked his test, and his service people installed a new battery right then. I could not be more pleased with Doug's care and attention, and the excellent service. More

Emergency repairs Had a power steering failure this week on my 2009 Volvo S80 (with 160,000 miles on the clock!!!). Helped me in a pinch!!! I was driving to work early in the morning and my tire light came on so I ran right to the dealership.
