I purchased a brand-new 2026 Hyundai Elantra SEL Sport and soon started experiencing an irritating buzzing/spray-like noise during acceleration. The sound increased with RPM and speed, occurred mainly in Drive mode, and was much less noticeable in Sport mode. The dealership first told me the noise was coming from the glove box. On a later visit, they acknowledged the noise again but changed their explanation and said the vehicle was “operating as designed” and that nothing could be done. What made this more concerning was that another 2026 Elantra SEL Sport I compared it with did not make the same noise. I also opened a case with Hyundai Customer Care, but I did not receive a timely resolution or clear explanation. I genuinely wanted to keep the car, but after repeated visits, inconsistent explanations, and no effective solution, I finally traded it in. Because of this entire experience, I ended up losing approximately $3,000 on a nearly new vehicle. That was extremely disappointing and could have been avoided if the issue had been properly diagnosed and addressed. I expected much better support from Hyundai and the dealership for a brand-new vehicle. I hope they improve how they handle documented customer concerns instead of simply labeling an unresolved noise as “normal.” More
