My husband and I have experienced nothing short of a nightmare since purchasing a used 2012 Honda Civic from there. When I asked if there was an inspection report we could see or if there were problems we should be aware of, the salesman, Eugene, stated that Woodfield Lexus runs a multi-point inspection on all used vehicles, and that if this car had any problems, it would not be on their lot. Only 10 days after owning the car, it breaks down. We purchased the extended warranty, which is provided through Lexus, even though the car is a Honda. I spent hours calling the main Lexus Warranty office only to receive conflicting answers from the main Honda Warranty office. When I tried calling Woodfield Lexus to help me navigate the situation, I was met with unreturned phone calls from Caryn, the finance director. I finally figured it out and took the car to a Honda dealership to figure out what was wrong with the car. We ended up spending over $700 in repairs that required “immediate attention,” including a dead battery, all of which were not covered by the extended warranty. Many more calls later and Rob, the pre-owned sales manager, finally gives me a call, only to lecture me about buying an “off brand” car from a Lexus dealership. He tells me that Woodfield Lexus only has the technology to run basic safety inspections on their “off brand” cars. This of course, is a different story from what the salesman, Eugene, told me. Essentially, Rob tells me that this is the gamble you take with buying a used car and admits no responsibility. To some extent I understand this, but I don’t believe that one should have to shell out over $700 in repairs after owning the car for 10 days. The kicker is that Rob tells me if he had known about that situation, he would have replaced the battery for free. Nevermind that I made several unreturned calls to Woodfield Lexus during the whole ordeal, so I’m not sure how I could have made a better attempt to communicate with them, but oh well. Moral of the story, proceed with extreme caution when purchasing a used, or, as they like to call it, an “off brand” vehicle from Woodfield Lexus. You could end up with hundreds of dollars of expenses. More

Dan did not know this about me, but I am a stickler for prompt responses from phone calls and text messages. Dan surpassed my expectations in that area. He answered all my calls and texts even during his lunch and off hours. That speaks volumes of the professionalism of the Lexus staff. Even now almost 3 weeks after the purchase, he's still answering calls and texts. I will do business again and again with Woodfield Lexus, and Dan Rosen. Thanks a million More

Car-buying experience My wife and I recently purchased a vehicle from Woodfield of Lexus. We went to the dealership to look specifically at a used car that was on the lot. My wife and I recently purchased a vehicle from Woodfield of Lexus. We went to the dealership to look specifically at a used car that was on the lot. We did not have a reservation or scheduled test-drive. We were warmly greeted by Eugene Merlin. We told him of the car we had come to view. He promptly brought the car around for us to test drive. He explained all the safety features as well as the amenities to both my wife and I, separately, as we were not in the car together for the initial explanation of features. Additionally, this was not a Lexus branded vehicle. Eugene was still able to explain the vast majority of capabilities, which we appreciated. When it came time for a deal, I really felt like Eugene wanted to make the deal happen and was willing to allow me to stick with a price I was comfortable paying. He went back and forth with his sales manager, as I stayed firm at my price. I had done a lot of research on the model and was relatively confident in the fair market value and I was firm in my price. Eugene was able to get me the price I was willing to pay. At no time did I feel pressured to increase my bid, or reconsider my pricing logic. The dealerships is very inviting and the staff are overall very friendly. More
