I brought my 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 4MATIC to Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables for an inspection and received several repair recommendations. My main concern was not simply the cost, but the lack of Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables for an inspection and received several repair recommendations. My main concern was not simply the cost, but the lack of transparency and detail provided with the recommendations. The estimate was very vague and did not provide a clear breakdown of parts, labor, or what specific components were actually found to be defective. I had to ask basic questions about the recommendations, including whether the tire price was for one tire or two and whether installation was included. I was initially given the price for one tire before installation, which was not clear from the estimate. I also specifically requested pictures and video documenting the issues found, particularly for the components that were supposedly collapsed or malfunctioning. I was told to look at the information through the customer portal, but when I checked, there were no pictures or videos available to support the recommendations. For a customer being asked to consider thousands of dollars in repairs, I believe the diagnostic information should be much more detailed and transparent. Customers should not have to repeatedly ask what they are actually being charged for, whether a quoted price includes installation, or where the evidence supporting a recommended repair can be found. I ultimately decided not to authorize the recommended repairs and will be obtaining an independent second opinion. I hope Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables improves the way diagnostic findings and estimates are communicated to customers, particularly by providing clear parts and labor breakdowns and the photographs/videos requested to document the condition of the vehicle. Considering bringing this up to corporate as this is not the experience I expect from Mercedes. More
