The dealership lost the 2nd smart key for my 2025 Santa

After three weeks of driving my brand-new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, we received a letter from the motor vehicle department informing us that my wife’s driver’s license had been suspended. Why? Because there was an incorrect VIN number on the vehicle.
This mistake has completely upended our lives. We immediately went to Universal Hyundai, hoping they could help us resolve the issue, but the experience was nothing short of horrendous. We waited for a long time just to get any help, and when we did finally speak with someone, it was from the finance department—who, frankly, couldn’t care less about fixing the problem. It’s as if once the vehicle is sold, they wash their hands of it and couldn’t care less about the consequences the customer faces.
I had to practically beg for them to address the situation, which caused so much stress for my wife. She was terrified—what if she had been stopped by the police? What if she had ended up in jail because of their mistake? We’ve lost precious time, my wife lost days of work, and it felt like no one at Universal Hyundai cared to help. The treatment we received was appalling. I spoke with one of the "big managers," and frankly, he didn’t care about our problem at all. It was clear that they have no interest in standing behind their customers once they’ve made the sale.
I’m livid that a simple mistake has cost us so much, and I’m disgusted by the total lack of accountability or concern from Universal Hyundai. I would never, EVER recommend doing business with them. They don’t deserve my time, my money, or my trust. Please, if you’re considering buying a car from them, make absolutely sure everything is in order because in my experience, once you drive off the lot, you’re on your own—and they don’t care.
This situation should not have happened, and they should be held accountable for what they’ve put my family through.

It is so much so that no one has yet given us a call to apologize to us when the mistake they made caused my wife to have a nervous breakdown and it is so much so that the purchase documents still have the error that the vin number is wrong and I need that error to be corrected. The truth is that there have been too many problems but it is clear to me that I will never buy a vehicle there again and I have warned all my family and friends about this lack of professional ethics. I only hope that for the better they try to change and offer better customer service.
