when we made the appointment for brake replacement, based on NJ state inspection, which said brakes were "oK" but would need replacement soon, we scheduled a visit. Later in the day, we record a phone call on NJ state inspection, which said brakes were "oK" but would need replacement soon, we scheduled a visit. Later in the day, we record a phone call telling us a few other things needing doing, including "your battery is testing weak." I old the service person Fred that we had just had the battery replaced in 2018, a heavy duty battery. He said, "Not here you didnt. We dont do heavy duty batteries." I was certain, so I asked him to check the past computer notes and he did and said, "You had a new battery in 2018. (No apology). but that was 4 yrs ago and its out of warranty." So we said go ahead and do the work. On picking up the vehicle, I asked, "What's the warranty on a battery?" and Mr. Hughs (very good) told us that the battery warranty is for 7 yrs, replacement after just 2 yrs, and then pro-rated discount on new battery up to 7 yrs." He voided our credit card purchase and gave us the discount. The person who we dealt with on arriving was just too lazy to look things up. We will avoid going to his desk in the future, and be less trusting with car repair in general, Glen Toyota included. More
