He was a Sushi Chef before his interest in automobiles played a huge role in making automotive sales his career. Being fluent in English, Mandarin and a few other Chinese dialects has enabled James to better communicate with his clients and meet their needs. James' approach to his clients has always been with a strong work ethic, combined with sincerity and reliability. His choice of sports is swimming and badminton, while chocolate and a good movie always makes his day.

Great service, fantastic negotiation for a fabulous car! I was searching around for a specific car for several months. Searching all over the country, looking at web sites, emailing dealers, etc. But when I was searching around for a specific car for several months. Searching all over the country, looking at web sites, emailing dealers, etc. But when it came down to it, the best dealer was in my own backyard in Maryland. I negotiated the base deal, came in and had a great test drive and bought the car. Its the small things, like having the car in front, started, had a customer sign on it, etc. Makes you feel special when someone goes out of there way on the details. After purchasing it, they cleaned it up and when I picked it up, it had a giant red bow on it! I was working with James Tan and Robert Buchanan. They both were extremely knowledgeable and made you feel that you were driving something really special. More

I just had the most remarkable car-buying experience at Criswell Maserati-Alpha Romeo with James Tan, the salesman providing the best experience I hav I just had the most remarkable car-buying experience at Criswell Maserati-Alpha Romeo with James Tan, the salesman providing the best experience I have ever had. I had narrowed my search to either the Maserati Levante or the Alpha Romeo Stelvio. James called me when the first 2 Stelvios in the US rolled off the truck. From the first phone call through my becoming the first Stelvio owner in the US, James was terrific, low-key but extremely knowledgeable about both vehicles. I can't say enough about the experience. I met Omar when we closed and he was charming and very helpful I drove past 4 other dealers to work with James and the Criswell Alpha Romeo team! More

Don't buy from here, and don't bring in your family either I will give this "Alfa Romeo/Maserati" dealership the absolute worst possible rating, for their poor treatment of customers. We came in today with I will give this "Alfa Romeo/Maserati" dealership the absolute worst possible rating, for their poor treatment of customers. We came in today with my father to test drive a new Alfa Romeo Giulia, since he is on the market for a new car. The manager James, who started working with us, asked my father for his drivers license. I gave him mine too, because I expected to try out the car also. I occasionally drive my fathers car, so I wanted to give the Alfa Romeo, and see how it would be for a daily. Don't get me wrong, it was not the 80k version, or anything fancy....but just a basic Giulia AWD (~45k). I would imagine it would sell for 39,000-40,000 in the end with the discount. When the manager saw my drivers license, he said that "I am not allowed to drive since I am 19", and that my dad has to drive, even though I have a full drivers license, and my father was right next to me. I have so far test driven more expensive vehicles than this, which had more power than the test drive vehicle. Company policy? That's was sort of expected (due to last experience), since this is the way Criswell treats their customers. A couple of months ago, I wanted to try a used Chrysler 300 @ gaithersburg chrsyler Criswell. When I asked the manager If I could try it, he said "no buddy", and sarcastically laughed at me. Then he waved "go away". The main reason for that was because I was "not 21". Again, xxxxxxxx in my opinion. Every other dealer let me drive, even when I had a permit, and was looking for my first car. These where BMW, Audi, Nissan, all in the 27,000-35,000 range. Is it normal in other dealerships? xxxx no! Every other dealer we have been to allowed me to try the car, even if it was a $60,000 vehicle, or an $18,000 car. We were not on the mood to argue. Honestly, I wanted to sit up front for the test drive (forget of even driving the car), but the manager insisted that I sit in the back seat, where I could not even try out the features and entertainment system of the vehicle. The test drive itself was mostly fine, the manager showed some features, and that was mostly it. Overall, don't go to Criswell, because they treat you like xxxx, especially if you are not 21. Criswell, just a question for you. So at 18, I can go to war, kill people, serve my country, get married, go to college, get a job....but I cannot test drive a car? Thank you for your amazing treatment, and age discrimination! If we ever buy an Alfa Romeo or any other car that you sell....it will not be from you. More
