We tried out several different models and settled on an Atlas Cross Sport. When it came to the business end of the deal, Colonial Vw of medford means business!! Their first price was a regional best price. Signed paperwork and drove away. Couldn’t be happier with our new VW Atlas Cross Sport or the experience we had acquiring it, Colonial Vw of medford is great! More

My late veteran father who Good Day, As a substitute teacher for BPS (Boston Public Schools) and mental health counselor; a vehicle is a necessity. My late veteran father who served as an airman left me his 2003 VW Beetle 4years ago. Looking to continue the tradition I did my homework and shopped around. Knowing the deal I needed to make things work for me I reached out to a neighborhood dealership which I have passed by for the eight years I’ve lived in Somerville: the Colonial VW of Medford. Internet Sales Manager Jason Giacoppo promptly responded back via email. Dan Goodman spoke with me on the phone to arrange a meeting, thus began the very smooth process. At the dealership, Jason introduced me to Sales & Leasing Consultant Paul Lazzaro. Paul was very approachable, friendly and his energy, knowledge and experience in auto sales was of the highest level. His willingness to understand my situation while giving me the opportunity to be as comfortable as possible was reassuring and complimented by his professionalism. The test drive went so well I literally nearly smiled the entire time. The follow up process was painless and I definitely feel as though I got a good deal. In addition, Finance Manager Stephanie Trevisone walked me through the paper work with great care and offered further benefits to be included with my deal. She further enhanced my joyful moment with added professionalism, attention to detail and shared in the enjoyment of my first car lease. I must say with sincere gratitude that everyone form management to environmental services were super helpful, positive and set the atmosphere perfectly for positive productive exchange. Lastly, I have to give an outstanding compliment to Sales Associate and veteran Josh Jefferies who paired up my Bluetooth with no hesitation, a complete smile and tutorial explanation. An act of kindness and service that exemplifies the high quality of standards Colonial VW of Medford represents. It was an honor to be their guest and lifelong customer. All Regards, D. A. Smith More

He cares about people not just customers tl;dr Greg from Colonial VW saved the day by swapping out my bad charger cable for my brand new 2019 e-Golf. He cares about people not just customers. He values the relationship, not just the sale. He’s an amazing ambassador for VW and is a model for everyone at VW dealerships on how to be a successful Product Specialist! I was determined to get the best price on a 2019 e-Golf SEL Premium. There were only a few in Massachusetts and Colonial VW had several. Jason Giacoppo from Colonial VW Medford corresponded with me over the period of a week or so as I tried to negotiate the best price. He was very responsive and I really appreciated it. In today’s world I really wish car buying was easier and the whole dealership price dance was a thing of the past. However, if that was the case, I probably wouldn’t have gotten the deal I did, so there are plusses and minuses involved with making that change. In any event, I think I got a great deal and decided to pull the trigger. Now, I’m on Cape Cod and VW Medford is about 1.5 hours away. Unfortunately, my local dealer, I won’t name names (but it’s not too hard to figure out), didn’t have any e-Golfs in stock (even though their inventory shows that they do have a 2019 SE, but that’s another issue). Jason was able to set up an appointment for me on Friday morning to come in and sign the paperwork (I decided to move forward on it Thursday evening!). When I arrived at the dealership on Friday morning, I met Greg Cohen (remember his name!). It became clear pretty quickly that Greg was going to be handling the delivery of my e-Golf and he told me that John Mancini would be with me shortly (the finance guy). Greg set us up comfortably in one of their waiting tables and offered us all the refreshments the dealership had, but we were just happy to wait quietly to get this process underway. A few minutes later John was ready for us to sign papers. We exchanged pleasantries and got to the signing. I decided to skip all of the extras, and I’m sure that John wasn’t super happy, but he didn’t act annoyed or anything and made the process as quick as we wanted. We were probably in the finance room for under 10 minutes. At that point, Greg informed me that they were finishing up the detail of the car and I called my insurance company to get that part done and Greg passed off that info to their registry person to get the car registered, titled, stickered, all that. Unfortunately, this part took a while and I had to just wait in a quiet showroom for about an hour. I was anxious to get back on the road at this point, my wife had left to get back to the Cape as well. I had some meetings coming up, it was lunch time, and traffic was starting to build up at the bridge. My appointment was for 10AM and I ended up leaving there with my brand new e-Golf at 12PM. That’s not too bad for a brand new car (I once spent 5 hours @ Tesla in Dedham for a delivery and didn’t end up going home with a car, and you buy Tesla’s all online, right?) I haven’t even gotten to the most important part of why I am writing this review yet: I got home, happy with the car, decided to plug it in using the Level 1 EVSE charger cable that comes with the car. All the lights on the cable box just blinked in a disco like pattern. I thought maybe this was the plug that I plugged into, so I tried a different plug, same thing. After trying several plugs it was obvious that the charger cable was faulty. Luckily we have another EV in the house and I used that charger cable to charge the car. I emailed Greg on Saturday afternoon and he got back to me right away, but asked if I could wait until Monday and he’d try to figure out something. Monday rolled around and Greg emailed me back as promised and suggested that since the charger cable was under warranty, I should reach out to my local VW dealer on the Cape and have them swap it out. I agreed that it would be much quicker to do that rather than traveling back up to Medford. I reached out to my local dealer and made an appointment through the website. It should just be a simple “give them the bad charger, have them order a new one and them pick up the new one when it’s in”, right? Nope, my local dealer wanted me to come in, drop off the car for the whole day, without a loaner, and then when they verified it was the charger cable (which can be verified by just plugging in the charger cable to any wall socket, no car needed) they’d let me pick up the car and then they’d order a new charger cable. I asked when I a loaner would be available since I just bought the car, they told me not until the end of July and there was nothing that they could do with just the cable. I was annoyed to say the least, why do I have to jump through these hoops for a car I JUST BOUGHT ON FRIDAY? I started to think to myself “typical dealers, they don’t care about you at all after you buy the car!”. At this point I decided to email Greg and vent my frustration and express my loss of trust in the whole process. Greg promptly asked me to give him a bit to figure something out. I reluctantly obliged. He then called me and apologized for how the other dealership had treated me and asked if I was available to meet him on Tuesday morning. Greg drove from Medford to Cape Cod to meet me 15 minutes from my home to bring me a new charger and take the defective one! VW Medford didn’t really have to care about me as a customer, but they did. Greg totally regained my trust for dealership/customer relationships and really the VW brand as a whole. Buying an electric car from a dealer already means that they aren’t going to get much from me from a maintenance perspective AND I really tried to nickel and dime them on the price AND I didn’t purchase any of the warranty upgrades. They had every right to write me off, especially since they aren’t even a local dealer to me… but they didn’t and now they have a customer for life! Whatever car I replace our other vehicle with in the next couple of years, I am 100% going to be reaching out to Greg and Colonial VW to see if they can’t take care of me again. More
