Went to Danbury Kia with my nephew to lease 2021 Kia Forte, met with Sales Consultant Jeff Sousou, who after listening to my nephew’s position offered a few different options, made a few suggestions, di Forte, met with Sales Consultant Jeff Sousou, who after listening to my nephew’s position offered a few different options, made a few suggestions, did not pressure us but gave my nephew some very sound advise. It was obvious Jeff is very knowledgeable in the automobile business but even more is very conscious of what works best with their customers. After working with Sales Consultant Ed Nunez my nephew drove out of the dealership that afternoon with a Certified Preowned 2018 Forte, which turned out to be a better deal for him then leasing. And thanks to Finance Consultant Manny Gonzales, who actually worked to get my nephew a better loan rate then initially quoted. More

For sixty years we’ve been a Ford used car family, but in 2021 I decided to buy my first ever brand new vehicle. Naturally I headed to the Ford dealership to test drive the Edge – too big, then the Escape – 2021 I decided to buy my first ever brand new vehicle. Naturally I headed to the Ford dealership to test drive the Edge – too big, then the Escape – did not like the CV transmission—big disappointment in Ford. My sister in Florida had raved about her Kia Soul and suggested I look at it. Heading home I spotted the Kia dealership and drove in and parked my 2004. The Sportage had caught my eye around town and I wanted to check it out. A gentleman named Jeff Sousou approached and asked if I needed assistance. My reply was “just looking’, a phrase probably heard many times at a car lot. Much of the inventory is far from the road and he walked back to show me the many variations of the Sportage which was a bit overwhelming. He offered me a test drive and to my surprise and relief, I could go it alone. I chose a route that included a back road, a steep hill, a bumpy stretch of pavement and the highway. I stopped in an empty parking lot to check out the function of the back up camera, the tailgate and measure the trunk space. The bumps and the highway both gave me an idea of cabin noise. I experimented with features foreign to me like lane keeper and blind spot monitor. I returned the car and again said I was ‘just looking’. I had no idea what to expect, so how could I know what to look for? The Sportage handled and drove much like what I was used to but I was just starting a search. I returned another day to ask Jeff for a drive in the Sorento and realized I had no need for the third row seating that came with the more spacious vehicles. Because of Covid, special ordering was not an option. My next resource was the internet. I began to consider the competition. What about the wildly popular Honda CRV, Mazda CX5, Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, VW Tiguan, Hundai Tucson, GMC Terrain or Subaru Outback. I was determined to test drive them all, and I eventually did. Youtube has professional evaluators and comparisons and I watched them all and I kept notes. One site called “Your Auto Advocate” offers guidance on buying and negotiating. I began with a few test drives, discovered fancy features and returned to ask Jeff for a different Sportage model. He graciously printed out window stickers which helped my note keeping. I continued my search for my first ever brand new vehicle. Another youtube video, another test drive and my focus was starting to sharpen. Dealer rebates and incentives came into play, color choices and availability, outside and in, extra features beyond basic became more important. Although my old car was 2004, it was a top of the line. The search was intensifying and I had forgotten what it was like to drive the Sportage. Once again, I stopped to ask Jeff Sousou for a repeat drive. He provided more options and offered a special sport model with the nightfall trim – very nice and attractive. By now I knew one feature I did not want – a sunroof, which was standard with the nightfall trim. Throughout my search, Jeff was gracious, informative, professional and low pressure each time I showed up at the dealership. He helped me hone in on the vehicle I wanted, color, features, trim and performance.. It finalized as the Kia Sportage. It is easy to see how Jeff receives the many sales consultant awards that line the wall behind his desk. I am truly grateful for his assistance. I look forward to building a service relationship with Danbury Kia. RA More
