Although Andrea was not present on the day of my purchase she ensured that all of my paperwork was in order. My Scenario: I flew in from Mississippi into Charlotte, NC. I was picked up from the airport by Ray (on time) we arrived at the dealership about and hour later. I was greeted by Jesus, we finalized the purchase paperwork, I went in with finance to sign final documents. After about 40-60 minutes total time at the dealership I had keys in hand, a full tank of gas, and I was on my way. This is a good guy. My residence is almost 400 miles away from the dealership. This was a long distance deal, and those can be fraught with peril. I bought the car sight unseen, always an iffy proposition ; in those circumstances, you've GOT to have someone on the other end you feel you can trust. Jesus is that guy. He was totally transparent, very helpful, and willing to go out of his way to deal with my requests. We were in constant communication over a period of several days, I took up a lot of his time, and he was never anything but friendly and helpful. In the end , my new vehicle was delivered to my driveway exactly as it had been represented to me by Jesus. We had a couple of paperwork snags, but in the end it all worked out. Buying a car is often not a fun process; it can be stressful, and you need a salesman that will listen to you, shoot straight with you. Jesus is that guy. I would buy another car from him in a heartbeat. The one I got is looking pretty good, so hopefully that won't be necessary , but it's nice to know I have a friend in the car business. I gave the dealership four stars - overall they were pretty good, but - they did the old " $700 dealer fee" add on to the sales price, which I find disingenuous at best, and frankly otherwise dishonest. To be fair, many, many dealerships do this, but I still don't care for it. It's a practice that needs to stop. 6 /9/2 update I have changed my rating of the dealer to one star . Some experience with the car now paints them in a different light. I still think the salesman was terrific. Not so much the dealer. Three things have angered me - one I mentioned above. 2) The Acura ('14 TSX Wagon - a rare bird) exhibits a very evident pulsing through the pedal under hard braking. We haven't inspected them closely yet , but my local guy sez the symptoms are classic for, and likely are,, warped rotors. I will have to buck up and replace them. Why didnt Paramount do that? They either didn't thoroughly inspect or cheaped out. Either way, not good. 3) Paramount claimed to have installed new tires on the car.. They did- from a retail standpoint, these are new tires.........Yokohama Tournantes, a decent quality tire. But they are very very old new tires. Production date of 2016.  They are old, and hard, do not ride well, and are LOUD. Obnoxiously loud.. Why would you put six year old tires on and claim that they are new? Because Paramount probably  got them cheap,  and put a few more $$ in their pockets,  at my expense. A couple of the local independent tire shops actually take tire trade- ins. I thought my chances were good - they are " new" tires, right? Nope - both guys looked at the manufacture date , said they couldn't, in good conscience , resell them.  Paramount obviously didn't have a problem with it. I am generally pleased  with the vehicle, in the long run I think it will be fine.  But the dealer cut corners in a way that's now going to cost me extra. Add ( I' m guessing) $ 150 - $200 for a brake job. Add $ $700  for a decent quality set of new tires ( I reckon Paramount probably paid about $ 50/ ea for these old, hard  Yokohamas). Original sale price was $20, 900. Then $800 in dealer fees, which I did agree to, even tho I still believe it to be dishonest. If I wanted the car , had to pay it. Not many of these around . This is money I should not be spending. It is a direct result of decisions made by the dealership. My $20,900 vehicle is now a $22,600 item. The brakes and tires should have been taken care of by Paramount. The brakes might have been an oversight, still unacceptable. But not the tires. That was intentional. More
