During a routine oil change and mileage checkup, the mechanics at this dealership effectively totaled my engine. Accidents happen, it sucks but that is fine. What was not at all acceptable is that the s mechanics at this dealership effectively totaled my engine. Accidents happen, it sucks but that is fine. What was not at all acceptable is that the service team and my service advisor lied to me about the damage and ignored my calls for 3 days until I had to physically go into the shop to find all of this out. I had called many times over the days and was continuously told that my advisor or someone would be reaching back out to me, however, they only did once via voicemail in which they told me the car was “being cleaned” and “these things take time”. In the span of those 3 days the service department had made decisions (without contacting me) to buy an entirely new engine out of a salvaged vehicle and were going to replace mine. All I was told at this time is that they needed to clean my engine and keep it over night. As I did not approve this decision and could not afford to stay in town for the time they would need, I had to get a new car as mine was effectively killed by the service department, during an oil change. Most of the sales staff were lovely to work with and very understanding during the entire process. Not to mention the same service department chipped the paint on my brand new vehicle while replacing the rear emblem (which had factory damage). If there is a message from this experience, it’s to own up to any errors and communicate with your client, it was very shameful how the service department went about this. More
