asked salesman outside if he had any new hybrids and he said he had several Ford Mavericks so I parked and followed him to his office ...he got a demo to inspect ..walked around vehicle and advised didn't said he had several Ford Mavericks so I parked and followed him to his office ...he got a demo to inspect ..walked around vehicle and advised didn't see any Maverick badging - he pointed out a small Maverick badge on the right rear which I could not read w/ my poor eyesight...he then said he had several more on the lot which he drove to w'o advising these were not Mavericks...told him one with a moonroof was not viable as my wife's car has one that we have not used in 8 years ... also told him one with painted wheels was unaccptable and he would not swap wheels ... at no time did he tell me that these vehicles were not Mavericks even though he told me earlier that's all he had as hybrids... he then put a hard sell back on for a unit in a cuatomers possession (4th attempt) but sale failed ...again I told him did not want a used car his reponse was the vehicle is "EXACTLY" what you want including wheels. I TOLD HIM THE COST WAS NOT IMPORTANT THE VEHICLE THPE IS. By this time, I was very tired having spent 2 days visiting every dealer in the Humble/Kingwood area and this was the last stop . I reluctantly agreed to look at the vehicle but no close until inspected and approved. His fixation on this vehicle suggested there was an extra incentive to him for this sale. He did not get the unit the next day and begged to give him another day. It was Halloween days and I did not want to leave my 84 old wife but he kept pleading so I reluctantly agreed to inspect...he instructed multiple times to be sure I came with a cashier's check ... late next day I got call to come to dealership to see vehicle...saleman asked to hold check before inspecting unit ...2nd BIG MISTAKE! as he disappeared and processed my check w/o my permission!!!!.Inspection was at sundown and difficult for me being color-blind and w/ poor eyesight ...wheels appeared OK and when finished wslk around sales man casually mentiond "it also has a moonroof" DID NOT WANT IT AND HE KNEW IT HAVING TOLD ME UNIT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED"...By this time my rental car office was closing and salesman offered to drive me there and home. I did not receive any paperwork (receipt, bill of sale etc). only paper I had was a small post-it-note with total cost so i could get the cashier's check. when i got home and parked in carport out of low sun I found that wheels were painted which I did not want! So now I paid for a moonroof and painted wheels which I DID NOT WANT on a unit that was supposed to be EXACTLY my fit. I asked for a refund for the moonroof and the manager disallowed 5 days later because the car ws purchased in the previous month. i wanted to wait until the next month to avoid Haloween but salasman begged to close immediately! At NO TIME was I informed that we looked at units other than MaVericks which I have a history with. I ONLY FOUND OUT THE VEHICLE IS AN ESCAPE NOT A MAVERICK,WHICH I WHOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED, WHEN I ADDED THE VEHICLE TO MY AUTO INSURANCE. I finally secured a Bill of Sale 3 weeks later. I still don't know what I paid for my custom leather interior... never got an inventory of accessories nor a window sticker. NEVER DISCUSSED PRICING.
