TL;DR: Avoid Rob Little and Mercedes-Benz of Riverside. They will lie to your face to close a deal, deny it later, and leave you holding the bill. In March of 2024, my wife and I completed a transaction for a vehicle at Mercedes-Benz of Riverside, part of Walters Automotive Group. During this process, Sales Manager Rob Little told us we would be able to claim the Clean Vehicle Tax Credit ($7,500) on our personal 2025 tax return. This was the deciding factor in going through with the deal. We claimed the credit on our 2025 taxes as instructed. It was not until 2026 that we discovered our vehicle was never included in the qualifying vehicle database, meaning we were never eligible to claim the credit in the first place. Rob either knew this and lied to close the deal, or made a promise about eligibility without bothering to verify it. Either way, we were misled. The contract language does not make any of this clear, and at no point during the transaction was our actual eligibility confirmed or disclosed. To add to the confusion, the vehicle does appear as eligible on fueleconomy.gov, which only reinforces that we had every reason to believe what Rob told us. We contacted the dealership to resolve this. Rather than acknowledging the issue, Rob denied ever making those claims, essentially calling us liars. The dealership then pointed to a manufacturer rebate on the contract and claimed that it was our Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. According to them, Mercedes-Benz claims the credit themselves and applies it as a rebate, meaning we are unable to claim it on our taxes. A manufacturer rebate and the Clean Vehicle Tax Credit are two entirely different things, and none of this was ever explained to us at the point of sale. We are only learning this now, after the fact, when the information is useless. This only further proves that they will tell you whatever it takes to close a deal, and sort out the details later when it no longer matters to them. We are now out $7,500 because of what we were told. We had completed two prior transactions with Walters Automotive and trusted them because of that history. That trust was misplaced. The purpose of this review is simple: do not take anything Walters Automotive Group or their employees tell you at face value. Verify every claim independently, especially regarding tax credits and incentives. Consider other Mercedes-Benz dealerships, and if you must go here, avoid Rob Little at all costs. More

I worked with Rob to purchase a 2026 CLE and I have NEVER had a better purchasing experience in all the years I've been buying cars. And I buy 2 or 3 a year.
