Bob Alvine is the President and General Manager of Premier Subaru. Bob started the business in August, 2000 with the desire to create a Subaru dealership that would consistently exceed the expectations of customers. Bob also wanted a company that was active and invested in the community in which it serves. Bob is a graduate in Finance from the University of Rhode Island (and a Rhody Basketball Fan) and has a MBA from the University of New Haven. Bob started his career in the banking industry and worked in various positions in Commercial Lending and Finance. Bob is active with the University of Rhode Island Alumni Association, The University of New Haven, the Branford Chamber of Commerce (Board Member), the Amity Club of New Haven and other community organizations. Recently, Bob was named to the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau of Connecticut.

I went to trade in my VW Golf R for a limited Crosstrek, but found out that they could not buy out my lease, and I would have to go to Volkswagen to sell it to them first. I was told my Crosstrek was going but found out that they could not buy out my lease, and I would have to go to Volkswagen to sell it to them first. I was told my Crosstrek was going to be "delivered" that day. So I went to the VW dealership in North Haven, sold my car, and took an Uber back to Premier. I was then told that my car was "delivered" to port but would take 10-14 days to get the dealership!! I was now without a car for two weeks (which is how long it took). They could not provide me with a loaner either. I reached out to the owner, Bob, via email and he mentioned the possibility of getting me a rental discount. However, after four more email attempts and one phone call to get this discount rental, he never got back to me nor did the other four managers cc'd on that email. So for two weeks I was begging for rides to and from work...nice. I was originally going to put down $9000 on a lease but ended up only being able to do $8500. When I texted my sales guy that I wanted to do $8500 down with the same monthly payment, or, I said in the text, if push comes to shove I would remove the paint protection package to keep the monthly payment down. He wrote back "understood". However, I get to the dealership to take delivery of my car and the paint protection was already added! And the monthly payment went up and there was nothing I could do. But $8500 down on a lease with a $314/mo payment sounds like a bad deal, especially after taking to my friend who put down $1000 and was paying almost what I was paying for the same car. I really wanted to give a better review, as I do not like negativity, but I just have to be honest. I feel like I got a bad deal with that much down, and it's too late. More
