Mr. Shah, I am sorry that you are unhappy with the diagnosis on your vehicle, I can appreciate how frustrating unexpected repairs can be. When your vehicle was in for service, we retrieved a code indicating an evaporative leak. Upon a thorough inspection of the undercarriage, our technician found damage to the under shield that protects the components underneath your vehicle. After removing the shield, we discovered that the corner of the charcoal canister had also been damaged. This damage is allowing fuel vapors to escape, which triggers the system to believe the fuel cap is loose or missing. Unfortunately this is not a repair that is warrantable due to the outside influence from something hitting it. Your insurance company may be able to help you using your comprehensive coverage if you file a claim with them.
