It was better under Jerry Damson's ownership. The added 3% service fee even for debit card purchases, when they don't charge any fee for a check is a cheap and underhanded way to make a few more The added 3% service fee even for debit card purchases, when they don't charge any fee for a check is a cheap and underhanded way to make a few more bucks on service. I understand the average service fee is 2-2.5% so Shottenkirk is even overcharging for that on top of the cost of service being more expensive. In addition, you are not told up front that there will be the additional fee, but only find out when you check out and get ready to pay. when you have major work done, the 3% adds up to a significant extra charge. I can understand a flat fee of $3 or whatever the true cost of processing, however, a 3% fee is highway robbery. Think about this, if you get an oil change for $75, the service fee is $2.25, if you have major work at the cost of $2,500, the service fee is $75. And I am willing to bet that the actual cost to process the cards in both instances are exactly the same cost. Shottenkirk needs to rethink this strategy as Jerry Damson has had a long, long positive presence in the North Alabama area, and Shottenkirk has the potential to bury that reputation into the ground. More

Justin Gibbs is straightforward and honest. I like his approach to the process. The lady that takes care of the coffee are is so nice.
