I have over thirty years of service here at Smythe Volvo. When I started here, I was pulling weeds, dumping oil buckets and doing general facility maintenance. Eventually I progressed from a Technician to a Master Technician, Service Advisor, Service Manager then Service Director. My favorite part of working here at Smythe Volvo is that we invest our business energy into safety. Over the years, we've had many customers who survived accidents because they were in a Volvo. Additionally, we've had many police officers who come in and bought a Volvo because they've been at the scene of an accident and seen how a Volvo saved a person's life. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, specifically going for walks with my three sons.

I purchased my first Volvo from Smythe. And it was the first of many satisfying experiences. I kept the first Volvo for more than 20 years and always had it serviced at Smythe. They kept it running in top notched condition for in excess of 500 thousand miles. The service was always excellent and the team of mechanics were dependable, reliable, informative and very professional and above all, always courteous. My second, third and fourth Volvo I also purchased from Smythe, all three were serviced at Smythe. I have had a total of 5 Volvos—1979 DL, 1988 240, 1994 940, 2000 S80, 2006 S80, all of which were serviced at Smythe. I still own three of the five (the 1988, 2000 an the 2006) with 500, 200, and 66 thousand miles respectively. Infrequently, I have had at least one of the Volvos I owned serviced at other Volvo dealerships, but for some reason I always feel the need to go back to Smythe, probably because of the quality of work and the attentiveness of the Team of mechanics at Smythe—I feel that I can unquestionably depend on them to do the highest quality work the first time around—and that has always been the case for the last 30 years or more of my experience with them. I have never been dissatisfied or unhappy with the quality of work performed at Smythe. And mainly because of the friendliness and quality of work produce by the Volvo Team—Sean, Kevin, Nick, Tony, Doug, Tom, Gary and all the floor mechanics, I have and will continue to very highly recommend Smythe Volvo to anyone who plans to purchase or have a Volvo serviced. More

We have bought at least twelve Volvos from Smythe, over a period of about 20 years. (We give our old ones to our children.) I gave the aforementioned ratings noted above because the service staff diagnosed and evaluated my service needs and prescribed the appropriate level of service required to resolve my issue. The staff is the most professional I've ever dealt with in the automobile dealership industry over the past 30 years I've owned cars. Sean does an amazing job managing and training the staff to remain professional at all times no matter how rude some people can be...and I've witnessed some obnoxious people in thier presence, but the staff always handles and resolves the situaton to the customer's satisfaction. Smythe Volvo is what a car dealership should be. That is, a collection of talented individuals working together for your benefit. They have successfully found the formula that leaves you the customer with th a collection of talented individuals working together for your benefit. They have successfully found the formula that leaves you the customer with the feeling that they won’t rest until your concerns or problems have been successfully dealt with. This past week, I was once again reminded why I have purchased or leased all 4 of the Volvos I’ve driven over the past 30 plus years from Smythe. My current lease is almost up on my 2010 XC60, and I had an inspection by the leasing bank’s representative scheduled for Monday 3/12. It was Thursday morning 3/8 and I had just become aware the evening before that my sunroof wouldn’t open. I called the Service Department and spoke to Doug to see if they could just sneak me in on Friday, so that someone could take a look at the sunroof so that I had a story for the inspector on Monday. Not only did they get me in, but they were also able to perform a scheduled 30,000 mile service and do some other previously unknown warranty work, in preparation for my inspection. They were also able to provide me with a loaner car at such short notice. I cannot say enough about the entire Smythe Volvo family. The Service Department is top notch. But it doesn’t stop there. Smythe Volvo stands behind the product that they sell. In fact, when we took possession of our 2010 XC60 three years ago, we had some issues. The model was brand new and had some growing pains. We had the vehicle in and out of the shop on a few occasions early on and the Service Dept determined that there were some software problems that were just beginning to surface in the model line and did their best to solve them. Unrequested, Sean Flanagan & Craig Melquist arranged to replace our vehicle with a new one. To this day, I’m still impressed that their pride in their product drove them to do the right thing, without even being asked. I currently am driving a 2006 S40 with over 100,000 miles. I am confident that Smythe Volvo will help me to keep my car on the road and provide me with another pleasant purchasing experience once I decide to trade up. More
