Hi James, I'm trying to get to the bottom of this issue and help as best as possible. Did you call the 1-800 toll free number for Toyota customer relations 1-800-331-4331? Unfortunately, it's not as simple as making a new key fob, they have to come direct from the manufacturer. I don't think our management team was clear in sharing this information, and for that, I apologize. If you call the toll-free number, they should give you a case number that will expedite the process of receiving your second key fob. This is a world-wide issue that Toyota has addressed, and is trying to fix. Unfortunately, there is a chip shortage and the supply and demand of consumer products is short. Please let me know if you can call the number to receive a case number. From our other customers, this has been a simple process and once a case is opened, the extra fob comes fairly soon after. Hi James, Again, we thank you for providing feedback on the experience you've had with our team. We just left you a message at the number you provided. Steve Hertogs is going to pay for the key for you. Please know you will also be receiving another key from Toyota. You will soon have three keys then. Please see Steve on Thursday morning to get everything programmed. As I said before, this is a worldwide issue. In fact, my family in California purchased a Rav4 a year ago and they still haven't received their second key fob. James Lipinski 6501Jack Rogers Ln Plainfield, Illinois 60586 815-405-5813 jjjjlip@sbcglobal.net When I called the number that I was given by Mark Girlich and yourself I spoke with a woman named Laquita who connected me with another dealer. That dealer told me for $310 they could order a new fob for me but it would not be covered under the 23TJ501 program and that Toyota would not reimburse me for this expense. My suggestion is that Oak Lawn Toyota orders a fob and pays for it and when they get one in for the 23TJ501 program they can put that one in their stock. I should not have have been given the number to call corporate, that should have been the responsibility of Oak Lawn Toyota.

Yes I did call the number and spoke with Laquita as I previously stated. The case # is 23062700729. She connected me to another dealer who told me I could purchase one for $310 and I would not be reimbursed. If they are available for purchase then there should not be a problem with you giving me what I am owed and restocking the fob when the one under the program comes in. I have more time involved over this fob then I did with the purchase of the vehicle. I bought the car outright, no financing, I wrote a check. Why don't you have one of the principals of Oak Lawn Toyota contact me. I will be more than happy to discuss this matter with them. This all could have been avoided if your service department would have looked at the schedule a day ahead of time and communicated with the parts department to see if the part was in. But the total lack of communication on your part just kept getting worse.
