I love my Subaru dealership. I usually give a 5 star rating but this time, I brought my car in for oil change (I am very regular about this and also upkeep of general maintenance over the years) and to be made safe for a long road tri my car in for oil change (I am very regular about this and also upkeep of general maintenance over the years) and to be made safe for a long road trip to Canada. The car is 14 years old but not yet at 200,000) I was informed of a slow oil leak but was assured that it could be taken care of later as the road trip was coming up soon. When I got the car home, it would put out blue smoke (it was not doing this before service) when starting the car first thing in the morning and there was periodic smokey smell when driving during the day. Not the condition I would deem safe for a long road trip. I brought the car back in since the blue smoke did not stop after a few days and service agreed that this was not the best condition for a road trip which had to be cancelled. The daily blue smoke did not return and I was given a service date a couple of weeks late for dealing with the oil leak. I do not expect my car to go in with no issues and to, after $1000 + worth of work to come out emitting blue smoke. My experience for the oil leak repair was excellent. When I brought it in at 8:45am, they were not sure if they needed the car overnight, I was given a loaner and they finished before the end of the same day. My car is running great. More

I'm confident in the work done at Subaru. The use of text messages to communicate job status is great. The customer waiting room and restrooms are nice and clean and comfortable. The one concern I had was I was told the car would be ready in 90 minutes, so I stayed nearby rather than going home, and when I returned 90 minutes later, they told me the car was out of alignment and it needed a new cabin filter, and this would take a couple of additional hours. So, at that point, I got a rideshare home, and had my wife drive me back later when the car was ready. Another minor issue was, I have an aftermarket battery, Optima RED25, after having 2 Subaru batteries fail on me and I was paid in a class action settlement related to Subaru batteries. The service manager told me that the battery was rated at 720 CCA, and was only generating 450 or so, and suggested a battery replacement. The car has been sitting for a while, so the fact that the batter was low was not surprising. The service manager also implied that the after market battery was somehow inferior to a Subaru battery, and the converse is the case. I also brought in several coupons, and asked which would save me the most money. We chose the minor service fro $189. After I was told the alignment needed to be done, I had a coupon that would have saved quite a bit more, but was told I couldn't switch coupons at that point. Of course, I didn't know that I needed the alignment when I first checked in, so this doesn't seem right. More
